I'm 12...and think I have depression?!


Question: I'm 12!.!.!.and think I have depression!?
I really need to know if I have depression!. Whenever I ask my friends they'll just laugh it off and say I'm too young to have depression!.

I've started to notice these things listed below!.!.!.!.please answer!

1!. I don't feel interested in things I use to love doing!.
2!. lately, I've been having many thoughts about suicide!.
3!. I ALWAYS feel that no one will ever care for me and that I'm useless!.
4!. Unexplained physical problems, such as back pain or headaches
5!. I get annoyed at every little thing
6!. unintentional wieght loss
7!. I've started to smoke on many occasions!.
8!. Restlessness
9!.Feeling fatigued or weak
10!. Problems sleeping
11!. I can't concentrate on ANYTHING!. such as a book that I'm reading or a show that I'm watching!.

My girl was 14 and she started feeling signs of depression!. It sounds like maybe you are suffering from a slight case of it, if you could or feel like it!.!.!.message me on yahoo letting me know about it, but what are your surroundings like!? How does your parents act towards you or anything really, it takes a lot of things to actually diagnose depression and the best thing would be to go see a doctor!.

1!. some things that might help depression is to find something new to do for a past-time!. We all lose interest in things, maybe you just need a change in activity!.

2!. THOUGHTS of suicide can be normal!. ACTUAL suicide sucks, and isn't really normal!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.I used to think about suicide too!.!.!.trust me, it's not worth it!.

3!. That is in your head!. NOBODY is useless!. I don't care who you are, nobody is!. Also, people care about you!. Right now, you don't necissarily need people to care for you besides your parents, and if they don't care for you!.!.!.you should try to show yourself that you are a strong person and that you can do everything that you need to do to survive and be happy!.

4!. There could be a BUNCH of things that will contribute to back pains or headaches or even achiness in any part of the body!. Since you're 12 (and I'm not trying to stereotype, but!.!.!.), do you stand with your back crooked with your hand on your hip or something!? A lot of people (this may or may NOT include you) stand with slouched backs, or sit with them, or something!. That can cause a lot of pain!.!.!.and if you think it's bad now!.!.!.just wait until your 40!

5!. You could be jittery, if you see or hear something that annoys you!.!.!.try to calm down!. Just try to look at it from different perspectives and maybe try to see a good side in it!. I know this is hard to do because I get annoyed by a lot of things too, but it never hurts to try right!?

6!. This happens sometimes anyways!. I fluctuate from 5-10 lbs per month or something!. I mean, you could be suffering from depression though!.!.!.I'm no doctor!.!.!.Thus being why I said to go see one (I'm just offering the knowledge I can based off my own events)!.

7!. Give up smoking!. It'll only make things worse, plus it'll complicate your health even further!. I don't care what you think!.!.!.if you think smoking helps!.!.!.hah!. your wrong!. It'll kill ya!.

8!. Many people get restless for different reasons, however I apologize that I cannot offer much else for this symptom!.

9!. I do all the time, but it's cause I'm lazy!.!.!.How much work do you do!? Or I should say how physically active are you!? Do you eat a well-balanced diet!? Dooo you get enough sleep!? I suppose this symptom could be a side effect from being restless, to be completely honest with you!.

10!. Oh!.!.!.whats restlessness then!? Wait, it must be just when you can't sit still or something along that line!.!.!.almost like jittery, like you ALWAYS have to move!. yeah, well!.!.!.Maybe you just have a lot of energy!.!.!.but then that's canceled out by weakness or fatigue!. But yeah, I can't really elaborate on this either!.

11!. You could have A!.D!.D!.!? But trust me, I'm sure you don't!. If you are like a lot of people I know, you would start worrying about that!. But don't, there's no need to!. Honestly!. Maybe you just have a LOT on your mind!. That's a huge factor with attention spans and being able to concentrate!.



!.!.!.Anyways, all in all!.!.!.Your best bet would be to see the doctor!. Yeah, I tried to debunk all of your symptoms, but I am NO doctor!. I'm just a 19 year old from PA!. SO, yeah!.!.!.sorry I couldn't exactly help that much!.!.!.but goodluck with everything!


and after I read the details you provided, I have to say that a LOT of it might be coming from school, you know!? There is a lot of pressure on all the kids from schools now-a-days!. If you truly have all or half of the items you listed it is most
important for you to seek professional help!. Talk to your
parents show them the list and explain to them how your
feeling and why if possible!. Their your parents they love you
and more than likely there going to hear you out!. At your
age your parents may be able to help with some of your symtoms, but once you point out that this is an ongoing problem I think they will listen and get you the help you need!.

Oh Sweetheart, Please don't tell your friends, they are not your friends if they just laugh at you!.!.!.you need to tell a grown up, your parents, a Teacher you can talk to, or a family member!. Sometimes when you have your monthly period you can feel this way!.!.!.tell your mom to take you to a Doctor and get tests done!. Being a teen sucks ***!. Maybe you should ask your parents if you can see a therapist!. I don't think it's silly at all!. When I was 12, I developed an eating disorder among other things!.

I will tell you something you'll hear a million times before you leave your teen years!. It will get better!. I'm not saying your problems will disappear!. But, all the angst will lessen with time!. Ask your parent or guardian to make an appointment for you with your physician!. There could be physiological as well as emotional reasons for your moods/behavior!. Most likely you are going through something that has many many similar symptoms!. Its known to most by the name of "Puberty"!. You are twelve, this is common!. VERY common!. I was like that when I was twelve!.
Just try and relax and don't get yourself paranoid over this!.
Also, don't stress your friends out too much over it!. And don't talk about it all the time for attention because that is annoying!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My councilor told me that it will pass!. She was sure of it!.
but just incase, talk to your mom or dad!.
you never know, and you might wanna get evaluated just to make sure!.
I've been going through the same stuff, only I'm 14!.
Things will get better!. Just stay positive!.
I write poems!. that always makes me feel better!.
Just try to keep your thoughts on good things!.

We can't properly analyze you online!. It does seem as though you should seek some help especially because of the thoughts of suicide!. Don't wait, you need help!. At your age your body tends to do alot of things you don't understand!. I would talk to your mom first!. DocWww@Answer-Health@Com

I think you need to talk to an older person, preferrably parents, about this, and if youre serious about suicides you need to find help, someone to talk to, im 15 and in a psychology class so i know it can be tough but it's the best thing to toWww@Answer-Health@Com

i was manic depressive at 14!.!.!.when you are you are not aware of it because you are subject to it!.

gosh!. thats horrible! what i would recommend is that you go talk to a counselor!. i know that it's really embarrassing and stuff to go talk to your school counselor, but one day you'll be thankful that you worked out your problems!. i really hope you feel better! you should talk to your parents, even though it'll be hard!. i'm around the same age as you, and i had 2 weeks when i was exactly like that!. i hated everything and anything!. just looking at my friends' faces made me want to scream!. it was pretty bad!. it might not just pass the way it did for me for you, so do what you can to help yourself!. since you can recognize that these could be signs of depression, crawl out of the hole before it gets any deeper!.

Unfortunately, for the most technical term of depression, you ARE too young!. However, that's BS!.

First, no one can really offer sound opinion without examining you for a period of time!. Even then, nothing is absolute!. If the depression is chemical, there's not much you can do other than try to overload the opposite chemicals to achieve a balance or take the prescribed drugs!. If it's a personality quirk, it's fully under your control!. In the end, it's your mind, do with it what you will!.

Second, I don't think you have clinical depression, rather you're just sad!. The list you offer sounds more like a diagnostic report for depression, which makes me think that, since you were feeling bad, you searched for an ailment that would explain why you felt bad!. Think of someone with simple chest pains that immediately begins listing the signs of heart-attack!.!.!.when, really, they're just a little winded!. For another reason, you are twelve-years-old!. While that's, in my eyes, young enough to be depressed, it also means you're likely facing new and odd pressures, some of which are too much (or seem that way)!. Those pressures combined with your body's growth and chemical alterations will make simple moods extreme, so that you either feel horrible or amazing!. It sounds more like you're just a little sad and down-trodden, not that you're depressed!.

However, if you are truely concerned, talk to your parents, your conselor, and whomever else you have access to!. While they may not be able to solve your problems, they will at least be able to keep an eye on you, so that they can keep something from hurting you!. Ultimately, don't worry, just take simple precautions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I just answered another kid who had the same issue!. You should definitely talk to a doctor and your parents about it, even a general practitioner (the one you go to with the cold, etc) should be able to help or recommend a counselor!. A lot of feelings about hating school can be normal, because it can be such a whirlwind of negative people and judgment!. But if it is affecting you to the point that you can't enjoy things outside of school and its affecting you physically, you should really talk to someone that you feel comfortable talking about these issues with!. Psychologists can be a great help, and many teens and adults find it helpful to go even if just once in a while!. They can give you ideas for dealing with suicidal thoughts and anxiety, like positive thinking exercises and relaxation techniques!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I went through the same thing at your age, right when puberty hit!. Does anyone in you family suffer from depression, your mom, your dad!? Thats usually a big factor!. I know EXACTLY what you're talking about!. I know the feelings you have!. And the best thing you can do is talk to your mom, or someone else you trust and are close to!. It seemed like no one else felt the way I did and they were all so happy and care-free, while I was worrying to much to enjoy anything!. PLEASE talk to a family member and get to a counselor and you may need to try an antidepressant!. I wasnt diagnosed with depression until I was 15, after suffering for 2 years of not knowing what was wrong with me!. You seem very smart, so tell someone and get help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
