OCD help!!!!!!!?!


Question: OCD help!!!!!!!!?
I have OCD and am trying to overcome it!
Its been getting better!.
I haven't been touching things or keeping objects that I don't need as much as usual!.
But I can't control my thoughts!.
I feel that I have to pick up leaves and stones or even just a peice of chewing gum lying on the floor!. I can't help it!. My friends and teachers as well as parents have been noticing lately!. I know that these things are useless to me but it makes me feel releived for a while before starting again!. I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT!.!.! I also walk in and out of rooms or classrooms as well as many other rooms ect and switch on and off lights several times while counting!.!. I also repeat words that another people have said or even words that I said several times either in my head or aloud!. (sometimes even both)!.!.!.!. I even somethimes ask or find some way to get the person to repeat the words they have said!. I also hate touching people or other people touching me!. (I feel like I start to act like that person ect!)Www@Answer-Health@Com

you really really need to go to a therapist and if you need medication, that's ok!. you are not crazy, you have an illness and more people than you know have it!. what you can do in the meantime is resist doing what the ocd tells you!. ocd always lies!. resist it and let the anxiety pass!. it's hard but you can do it!. also talk back to the ocd!. say, "no! that is not true!. i am me and not the other person, it doesn't matter if i touch them and you know it!." "no! i do not need to picd up that leaf!. it's fine where it's at!." i am so glad your mom is going to take you to a therapist!. honey, it is nothing to be ashamed of!. you are not the ocd!. it is a illness!. if you had a cold you would go to a dr and take medicine to fix it!. well you have a condition called ocd, go to a dr and if necessary take medicine to help fix it!. the meds won't cure you but it may help!. take these steps and the steps your dr will give you!. you don't have to live this way!. you deserve to be free!. god bless you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I really admire your get-up-and-go attitude with regards to wanting to help yourself first, rather than going to a therapist!.

That said it sounds like you have quite some deep running issues with OCD and I think it would be more beneficial if you used this healthy attitude TOGETHER with therapy!. You may find that you will not need medication, but I think the guidance of a therapist will be very helpful!.

It will help you vent the anxieties and hang-ups that make you behave in this manner and help you to gradually change this behaviour!.
