Is Depression wrongly perceived and wongly treated hence?!

Question: Is Depression wrongly perceived and wongly treated hence!?
Wanna know what yous think!. I think depression is purely a stress overload on an individual and i think getting fit and friends and fun is the answer, when this hectic world allows it!. i think anti-depres meds are disastrous: dont work and only become addictive, like any long term brain chemical drug would!. i think they help everybody else but not the person taking the drug: gets them on their feet but still sicky, tired, disturbed sleep etc!. i basically think exercise and fun along with routine is the answer to all lifes problems, not meds or councilling; i reckon either of these things on a regular basis would only stress you more!

Do you know what severe depression is!? Sure exercise and "fun" might help someone who has minor depression but major depression is a real illness that "fun" will not fix!. When someone is severely depressed it affects they're whole body, you have no energy, your whole body aches, you can't breathe properly and doing something as small as making a coffee is a major event!. Depression is a whole lot more than just feeling sad or down!. People with depression are at a real risk or death!. Do you think someone who has a very real risk of dying should not be given medication!?

What about someone who has another kind of mental problem, such as bipolar disorder!. Do you think that they also just need some fun!? What about schizophrenics!? Or people with severe anxiety disorders such as OCD who cannot function normally at all!? Should they also just try some exercise!? What about people with psychotic depression, it's a form of depression where people hallucinate and have delusions, should they just talk to some friends and all their problems will go away!?

I can see where you're coming from though!. A lot of people in today's society think that depression isn't a real illness because nowdays it seems everyone has it!. A lot of people feel sad because of a break up or whatever and straight away label themselves with depression, when that is simply not the case!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
