Dreaming about self-injury?!

Question: Dreaming about self-injury!?
Last I injured myself, purposely, was several months ago - I'm trying to get over it now!.!.!. my best record is 6 months!. The only thing that is consistent is I cry for about an hour around twice a week every two weeks - at least whenever something makes me stressful!. I feel fine now, but this morning I had a dream where I got frustrated and screamed out in public and thought about flinging myself onto a wall (what I really do) in front of the other people!. I didn't because I didn't want to embarrass myself and get caught!. Does this perhaps hint that I'm not over it!.!.!. that it'll happen again!? Or should I not take the dream seriously!? I'm not sure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You just have to stay strong!. Remind yourself how well you're doing!.

It's a dream!. There could be many reasons for it!. I don't think it hints at anything other than self-injury being in the back of your mind!. And hey, it's in the back of my mind, too!. That doesn't mean I'm going to self-injure!.

Have you ever listened to Tori Amos!? She's really theraputic for me & a few other injurers I've met online!. Also, when I want to injure, I snap a rubberband on my wrist!. I'm sure you've heard that mathod from a therapist!. But, it helps me a lot!. You should really talk through your problems though!. If you're thinking so hard about cutting, you obviously have **** to work through!. Good luck!. And check out Tori if you haven't listened to her!Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's floating around in your mind!. try not to think about it!. it will go away!.!.!.

i cut!.!.!.we may never be over it!. but try and make yourself get over it!. try to shrug off the thought!. don't let it bother you!. get your mind busy!.

good luck and thats awesome you didn't do it for that long!. im trying to stop!. 3 weeks seems to be my limit!. hopefully with baby steps i will get to that long as well!. then be done with that garbage all together!. im so upset that i got myself to be this way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think that people that self-injure will always have times that they think about self injury again!. Its possible that you've had some stressful situations in the past week, or worried about something, and the self-injury came out in your dream since its something thats had a big impact on you!.

Don't focus on the fact that you've had a dream about it but focus on the fact you've done amazing by going 6 months without it!. Its a very hard thing to overcome, and you're doing a fantastic job!. If it happens again, know that you can always overcome it, and it will get easier with time!. I've gone 1 year without it, had a relapse, and then gone another year without SI!. I don't feel like its a big lapse on my part, but am really proud of the years or month in between occurences!.

Good luck, and keep up the great work!Www@Answer-Health@Com
