i just found out im biplar and the doctor gave me lamictal for my moods is anybody else on this and does it help you and what kind of side effects did you get on this and what was your differnce from befor and now i want some insight on the medication NOTE this is only my fifth day taking itWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'm on Lamictal and it helps me balance my thoughts!. At first I started a low dosage and with each week it was increased until I reached 200mg!. I take it at night because it can cause you to be tired!. Before being diagnosed with bipolarism my moods where shifting back and forth!. Now that I'm more stable I have realitively less mood swings!. Your on a good drug! Remember there are many people that have bipolarism so your not alone and many are on Lamictal! Lamictal didn't work for me!. I overdosed on it September 8th of this year and ended up in bad condition at the hospital!. They added lithium to my lamictal regimen, which seemed to help substantially!. I eventually convinced them to take me off of the lamictal, because I could not stand the taste of it and didn't feel that it worked!. I am now on Lithium (900 mg) Celexa (an antidepressant, 20 mg) and Risperidone (and anti-psychotic, 1 mg) and am doing better than ever better, despite being totally manic for the last few weeks (due to too much antidepressant and no anti-psychotic!.!.!. just added that!.)

My friend is bipolar and she does not like the way the medication makes her feel!. She hasn't been taking it for quite sometime!. She controls it most of the time because she can tell when it is affecting her!. If you do decide to go off the medication, let your friends know so that they don't think you are a total ***** and hate you!. It helps for your friends to know so that if you are acting different they will understand and not take it personally!.
I really hope the medicine does work for you, but if it doesn't, there are ways of still living a normal life without meds!.

Yes I was diagnosed with Bio Polar also and on Lamictal and the only side effect was killed my sex life and I sat around in a daze just like antidpession tabs do and I felt Iam more ADHD than bio polar but doc wont listen so I slowly weaned off them and trying to get another doc!. I was told there the cleanest med out there and fewest side effects!. I don't know your history but mine was never getting to high mine was being more distracted so it may work for you give them time at 3 months and you will know how you feel we are all different!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Hey, welcome to the family! Don't worry having a label does not define who you are!. The meds will take between 6 to 8 weeks for some of them to be at full tilt!. For info on side effect check out:

I take Lamictal, 200mg!. I love it because it controls my mania, but without my other meds it makes me really anxious!.
It gives me insomnia if I take it at night, so I take it in the morning and in the afternoon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
