Is there a difference between an addiction and a dependency?!

Question: Is there a difference between an addiction and a dependency!?
Answers:
YES!

Addiction is something you can't quit ie "This is the last time I get high" then you get high again anyway and just can't stop!.

Dependency means you will have some kind of withdraw symptoms from the drug!.

You can have ether one or both at the same time!. For example, a person may be addicted to weed but their body is not dependent on the drug!. Or a person may be on a doctor prescribed medication that if they quit taking they would have withdraw from!. Or they may be on heroin and be addicted and suffer withdraw if they quit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hmmm interesting question!. I feel the only difference is that the medical world has used the word dependency because it doesn't sound as bad as addiction!. However if you take the symptoms of both dependency and addiction and put them side by side, they are prob exactly the same!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
