I'm on prozac, and it hasn't done it to me!. Most of the side effects listed on drugs are unbelievably rare, so I wouldn't worry about that!.

On another topic though, if you're losing you're hair, it may be from malnutrition or a host of other problems!. Maybe it's a vitamin deficiency!. I would check WebMD to find out more on female hair loss!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you!. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor!. Follow the directions on your prescription label!.

Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results from the medication!.

Do not stop using Prozac without first talking to your doctor!. You may have unpleasant side effects if you stop taking this medication suddenly!.

To treat premenstrual dysphoric disorder, the usual dose of Prozac is once daily while you are having your period, or 14 days before you expect your period to start!. Follow your doctor's instructions!.

Call your doctor at once if you have any new or worsening symptoms such as: mood or behavior changes, anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, or if you feel impulsive, irritable, agitated, hostile, aggressive, restless, hyperactive (mentally or physically), more depressed, or have thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself!.

Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

*

seizure (convulsions);
*

tremors, shivering, muscle stiffness or twitching;
*

a red, blistering, peeling skin rash;
*

problems with balance or coordination; or
*

agitation, confusion, sweating, fast heartbeat!.

Less serious side effects may include:

*

drowsiness, dizziness, weakness;
*

runny nose, sore throat, headache, flu symptoms;
*

nausea, diarrhea, changes in appetite;
*

weight changes;
*

decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm; or
*

dry mouth, increased sweating!.

*HAIR LOSS

Don't worry! The symptom that you are experiencing is probably what is called a transient Prozac side effect; this means that the side effect is not permanent and could disappear as your body adjusts to taking the drug!. Some symptoms are experienced by many people for the duration of treatment but just understanding what these are is enough to reassure the sufferer!.

if Prozac worsen your hair condition , call your doctor !.

ive taken prozac, though my hair is thick and medium texture, it didnt contribute to any hair loss!.

if youre already taking prozac and your noticing that your hair is thinning even more, then talk to your doctor about getting a different medication!. [there are others]!.

they call these "rare side effects" cuz its almost a slim chance to none on actually being affected by them!. so i wouldnt worry to much unless, like ive said before, you notice your hair condition worsening!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have any trouble with this, try the vitamin "selenium!." It really helps!. Lots of drugs can cause hair loss, yeah, even if it's not listed as a possible side effect!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
