You are most DEFINATELY not alone!. The feeling detatched from yourself feeling is called depersonalisation!. There is a term for it, and you aren't going mad!. I suffer from severe anxiety, depersonalisation and depression myself so I knwo what you are going through!.

What you are experiencing is a HUGE overwhelming state of negativity, in every aspect!. However, one of the best pieces of advice got given was this:

If you think about things in your life, the negative parts are usually lies, and the positive ones - Truths!.

I know something that might do a lot of a good, and that's joining an anxiety forum!. The people on there have literally turned my life around, and everyone experiences what YOU are experiencing!. I am a member too, and I think it will do you just as much good as it has done me!.

Your questions (which sound totally logical to me) may be a response to some sort of high stress or tramatic situation!. Has something happened to make you question your life and the world around you!?

The disconnection you feel is probably because you don't have anyone that you can feel comfortable expressing your questions and ideas with!. I think it would help to have a good heart to heart (talk) with someone who is willing to listen to your thoughts and your feelings without being judgemental!. If none of your friends and family fit this description, I would suggest that you see a psychologist!.

Also, the concept of normality is tricky!. The fact that you feel the need to get back to "normal" again could be whats hindering your happiness and causing the anxiety that you feel!. Since life is fluid and ever-changing!.!.!.it is my opinion is that, by definition, the word normal should be NEVER be used to describe it!. I think you should set a goal to return to your "happy life"!. Even if things are never the same again(which could mean that there are even better things to come in your life), your HAPPINESS is what should be more important!. And it may take some time!.!.!.so be patient and stay positive!Www@Answer-Health@Com

First, take three deep breaths, in through your nose and out through your mouth!. Studies show she releases endorphins and lowers stress hormones and heart rate!. Then, speak (out loud when possible) the opposite of what you are thinking that is negative!. Don't say "nothing bad is going to happen to me," but rather, phrase it "I am safe and have a secure future!." See!? Focus on positive words!. Repeat these to yourself at least ten times, or (better yet) until they start to feel true!.
Hope that helps! Feel better, friend!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
