Answers:
Have you tried anything other than the Effexor yet!? You can certainly try Wellbutrin, but it doesn't have a very good track record of treating anxiety!. In fact, it makes a lot of people's anxiety worse!.

Ativan is not a really good choice!. Ativan is a benzodiazepine, which is a type of drug that's meant to be taken only when you need it, and not every day!. Benzos are highly addictive, and benzo addiction can be very serious!. If you become seriously addicted, withdrawl can cause seizures which can lead to death!. Benzos are good at decreasing anxiety, but they're meant to be used short-term and are not a long-term solution for treating your anxiety!.

You may want to look into Buspar (also called Buspirone), which is an atypical drug that's pretty decent at treating anxiety!. Also, if you haven't tried any yet, try an SSRI!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have been on Effexor for 2 years now and have had the same thoughts, but have yet to try a new medication!. My husband, however, was on Effexor for 2 years and didn't feel like it was working for him!. He went to a new doctor and got on Lexapro with a generic xanax (spelling may be off, sorry) for nights!. He had a rough week while he was switching meds, but now he has been on Lexapro for over a month and sees a change!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
