Question: What is the first thing a psychiatrist says or does when you go in for the first time!?
Answers:
There are a few things that they want to know starting with why you think that you need therapy!. The next thing that they should do is take a medical and psychological history to find out about any medical illnesses and psychological illnesse that you've had to deal with and that might run in your family!. Than they will ask how long you've been feeling the way that you do and what you might think started the situation!. They should also ask about any medications that you're taking and have taken in your life time!.
IF the doctor doesn't ask these things you should think about getting another doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I saw my psychologist for the first time, the first thing she asked is why are you here!? They aren't mind readers and need you to tell them what you think is wrong!. After that she asked a lot of questions about school, friends, relationships, and family, and focused in on what was really bothering me!. In the end she made a few suggestion on what do to in the mean time and set up a future appointment!.
I know I was really scared and nervous about seeing her for the first time, and the fact that I'm seeing her for anxiety didn't seem to help with that either!. But they are just trying to help, and you shouldn't be worried or anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
