Question: I am soo depressed i need help!.!.i dunno where to get it from!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!?
im 18, As-level exams finished, bullied in earlier years, low-selfs teem issues, suicidal thoughts though haven't attempted, failure of first year As level so just re-did my year, siblings all doctors, pressure, !.!.!.but also my sister told recently she might get cancer in future because they found a lump!. i live on own with parents - feel guilty to have friends over because mum makes me feel guilty and then i resort to going away but cant always afford!. i have eczema around eyes when i get stressed and then get depressed, i hate the color of my skin - has only brought problems when i was growing up in all white school!. i cant deal with life!.!.!.what shud i do!?!.also never had a bf, never kissed!.!.too scared to commit!.!.!.i will never find anyone!.!.cuz i think im ugly!.!.!.helpWww@Answer-Health@Com

There are 4 great things that you wrote!.!.!.!.I know you probably dont want to hear them at the mo but I will start with them!.!.!.!.!.!.

1 - You are 18 (this means there is a GREAT deal
of hope and a GREAT future is possible)

2 - You re-did your A level year (so did I)
EXCELLENT you didnt give up that shows
something strong and determind in you!.
Whether you pass or not is ok because this is
where you will move on from!. Something is
about to change - this time next year you will
be in a different situation!.!.!.!.!.!.great you are
ready for a change whatever that will be!.

3 - You live with your parents!.!.!.!.!.!.thats great, you
have a base to start from!.!.!.I will explain in a
moment!.

4 - You havent had a boyfriend - the good thing
about that is!.!.!.!.!.!.when you do you will be so
much more mature and sure of yourself and
you are much more likely to have a great and
meaningful first relationship then had you just
gone out with anyone for the sake of it when
you were at school!.

Now this is what I think you could do (I may be totally off the mark here but as you are asking I am just saying my ideas)

Set a plan for yourself to save money!. Why!?- because with a strong base of money you have more choices, more independance, more security, more freedom!. Working for a while with this aim will give you a focus and a goal, it will give you time out from the pressures of study, it will make you look good to your family as you are taking strong positive action with a focus so that should keep them off your back for a while!. You are definatly young enough to take time out to do this - even though it might not feel like that at the moment!.

Whilst you are working I would suggest you find a REALLY good doctor and a REALLY good therapist/councellor (at your age there is likely to be youth agencies etc that help young people up to 25) it would be very good if there was someone with the same understanding of the issues you have had/have!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.low self esteem/bullying/skin colour issues etc!.

The doc will help with the medical side of things - the eczema - as you point out is due to stress and depression, the doc will help you manage that!.

The councellor will help you work on building up your self esteem and work through the issues you have and then you will find that the exema and depression do lift eventually!. There will be someone out there who really understands you, it might just take a bit of looking but I know there you will find someone!.

All these things combined will help make you feel better and stronger in yourself!.

It is ok to take time out of studies - although it may seem very hard to see that in such an achedemic family!. But really there is more to life then that and you seem like someone who would benefit from time out to build yourself up and then face further study if that is what you would like to do!.

I hope some of what I have said has helped!. I feel like I understand where you are coming from to a certain degree and because I can look back I can sort of see the path I wish I had taken or atleast known I could take!. I can guarantee there is a youth service or something in your area that once you get attatched to it then you will find all sorts of help and opportunities arrise!.

So my advice:

* get a job for a year
(I reccommend at a cinema -
plenty of hours, free films, good people to work
with and more interesting then some other jobs
out there)

*save save save save money (if you have to pay some rent to your parents then ok, but if not then that is great as you will not likely have the chance again to be able to save all your wages - eventually a whole chunk will go on rent/food/bills etc oneday when you decide to move out!.
(this is your goal work & save money - not your life)

*get intouch with your doc and youth service
councellors and programmes - get involved, get
supported, get well, build your esteem!.

* picture your life as how you would ideally like it
to be then work out a way of creating it to be that
way!.

I recommend "googling" depression and anxiety!. There are free self-assessment quizzes you can take online!. Then, print those quizzes out and seek help!. There are many counselors you can find online in your geographic area that can help with these real feelings you are experiencing!. There's nothing wrong with feeling this way, but sometimes, talking it out with an objective professional can help!. And you can find some that will charge a fee on a sliding scale based on income!. Eczema around eyes!.!.!.I have read of many people finding relief from eczema and similar skin conditions when switching to a 100% raw vegan diet!.

Give your head a shake!. You are young, you are finished your exams {!} and just at the point of moving into the most exciting time of your life!.!.!.this is fear, that is simply it!. Guilt is simply resentment turned backwards, consider this and the situations you and your family are facing!.!.!.it is all your perspective, if you can visualize yourself as the woman you want to be you can begin to move towards that image and one day, you will realize that you are that woman!.!.!.the key is to stay in the present moment, and really enjoy your life!.!.!.it is a choice!.

Talk to a school counselor or call the county mental health department!. You can do whatever it takes to make yourself start feeling good about yourself and a bf and other good things can be in your future!. You do have some friends so talk to them and for yourself know that if anyone makes an issue of skin color that it is only ignorance and stupidity talking!. If all your siblings are doctors ask them for help!. I can't imagine all the things that have happened in your life to get you to this point by the age of 18 but remember the times you were happy and believe you can have them again!. You have to change your thinking and set goals and work toward achieving them!. You can get better and have a good life!. Start right away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
