I'm 24, & I take antidepressants!. They don't even help!. It's just destroying my body even more!. It seems like the anger, evil, & hate in this world is growing bigger & bigger!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First, I think you are overgeneralizing when you say most people are on some kind of antidepressant!. In addition, antidepressants have nothing to do with morals, values and compassion -- they have to do with helping people who have a true illness -- a chemical imbalance -- a disease that is treated with a medication -- similar to diabetes!.

Do you question the fact that there is an increase in the number of cases of diabetes in the world since the 1970s and 1980s!? Is that because there are fewer morals and values!?

Stop judging people and realize that mental illnesses are just that -- illnesses that are treated by both therapy and medication!. In addition, anti-depressants are beneficial for anxiety disorders such as panic attacks, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (which many soldiers from Iraq suffer from as well as many children who were abused in the 1970s and 1980s,) and for many women who suffer from pre- peri- and post-menstrual disorders!.

Perhaps you are lucky enough not to have any of these illnesses -- count yourself among the blessed! But, don't judge the rest of us as having no morals or compassion or values because we need antidepressants!.

Because of western medicine!. At least in the United States we're constantly bombarded by road-side Ads, Television Ads, Medical advertising (Doctors), Radio Advertising, and paper advertising (newspapers/magazines) broadcasting these medications!.!. Restless leg syndrome, ADD, ADHD, Bipolar, etc!.
And while some people have these illnesses, not everyone does!. But because these drugs are so readily and easily available and the symptoms are fairly common depending on your situation!.!. People become convinced they need the drug!.

When infact the real illness is too little sleep, too much stress, poor diet, etc!.

The western world is a drug ridden society, and so long as there are companies to produce the drugs and pop out new ones!.!. they will advertise and convince you that YOU have the condition their pill cures!.
From erectile dysfunction to Itchy-scalp syndrome!.

Again, some people have it!.!. but most don't!. Yet the drug companies are doing everything they can to convince people!.

The same goes for anti-depressants!. A simple change in life-style would fix their problem!. But instead they dose themselves with medications to "Make it all better!." refusing to take responsibility and correct their life on their own!.

After all, why do the work when you can take a pill that makes it all go away!.!.!. right!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I believe it's all the technology that keeps us inside and separated from the rest of the world!.

Very little interaction with others is needed to get through the day in these years because of computers, television, whatever!

Not to mention it keeps us away from the mentally therapeutic qualities of nature!.!.!. D:Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think that people don't want to own their emotions so they stuff em!. I also believe that there is a mentality that to weep or show sorrow is a sign of weakness!. Jesus is our example and the shortest verse in Scripture is, "Jesus wept"!. The scriptures also tell us to, "Not let the sun go down on our wrath!." If we followed these two verses in Scriptures we would have better mental health!. We are supposed to settle things day by day and own all of our emotions!. In order to fit in with the world we must amputate and medicate our being!. Such is life!.!.!.MmmWww@Answer-Health@Com

You are exagerrating!. Most people are not on anti-depressants!. I was raised the same time period as you and I saw many depressed classmates!. Violence in schools existed and drugs were not that uncommon!. Sex was a recreational activity just as it is today!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

because the drug companies are slowly taking over the minds and bodies of the human race!. they prey on the mentally and physically fragile and use doctors as their puppetiers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most people are NOT on antidepressants!. However, there are probably many more taking them than probably ought to be!. But, life today is pretty stressful and if a pill can help us when nothing else does, why not!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most people are on drugs because most people are retarded! They think that the world is out to get them and that drugs is the only one there for them!. Good thing I am being raised better than those stupid people :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

From the Hippiys in the 60's; "Better living through chemestry!." We only have the time given us, we need to make good choices and find meaning on our way through!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
