I'm on Citalopram and it can be taken anytime of day so long as it's with food!. My doctor told me to take it in the evening because I was very anxious in the mornings!. But it actually doesn't make that much difference!.
If you have just started taking the pill this month, your sleep distruption may be due to the side effects of the pill!. Side effects include insomnia/disturbed sleep!. In this case just give your bodfy some time to get used to it!.
If you've been on Citalopram for longer than a month and are still having problems you should see your doctor!. Citalopram does not make you drowsy or overactive like some other antidepressants so it shouldn't cause sleep problems after the initial side-effects!. Your sleep problems may be due to your illness!. You may need to try a different type of medication or a higher dosage!. Ask your doctor!. Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I get bad side effects when I initially I take it - so I take it at 4am and when I wake up (usually at 8am), I feel better!.

For me it is part of a complicated medication regime and cipramil sedates me so I've incorporated it into my sleep cycle so I miss the worst of the side effects (also causes nausea, makes me dizzy and unbalanced)!.

If it wakes you up, try taking it in the morning when you hop up with food and plenty of water or even at lunch time!. Discuss this with your shrink first though!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I take citalopram - I choose to take it in the evening as it makes me drowsy as I take 40mg!. It is usually taken in the morning as it can cause strange dreams as a side effect but as far as effect goes as long as you are consistent it should be okay!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've been on 10mg Citalopram for 3 years now, and take it about an hour before I go to bed, to help me to sleep!. I found that when I took it in the morning, I felt a bit drowsy!. (I drive, so that was no good)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Myself, my dad and my stepmum all take it in the morning [scary sounding family huh lol!] my boss takes it in the morning when he feels like it too!. xWww@Answer-Health@Com

disturbed sleep is a side offect of both depression and antidepressants!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
