Question: I told my Dr that Xanax doesn't work 4 me and I don't want 2 raise the dose any higher!.!.!.!?
for the fear of addiction!. I fear I've made a huge mistake!. He put me on the lowest dose of valium (2mg) and I was taking quite a bit of xanax a day!. The valium is not working and I'm kind of freaking out a bit!. I'm having so much anxiety!.!.!.or could it be withdrawal!? What am I experiencing!? I am actually in tears here!. Also, today was the first day without any xanax!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

why not take an ssri for anxiety symtoms as they are not addictive!.!.!.they prevent an anxiety attack and then you can get on with life and take it for granted that you wont have one!.!.!.!.!.gosh why live in fear of the next one!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
if you doctor will not change you medication to another, you should consider finding another physician!. I think that there should be counciling to go along with these types of medictions!. This is not to be looked upon as a derogatory thing!. Everybody should have some sort of therapy, whether it be from a loved one or from a professional or clergy!. It is good that you have the worries that you do about these types of medications!. they are very addictive!. You need to take the time for yourself, call the crisis intervention number on the back of your insurance card and get someone to speak to right away!. You may even experience withdrawl symptoms from the xanax!. They really suck, but they go away and it is better than being sucked back into a dependancy to them!.

Check the instructions that come from the drug company!.
You never stop taking Xanax all at once!. It's too much of a
shock to your system, with side effects!.
You start withdrawing by a 1/2 pill less every day, for 2 weeks!.
Then go without 1/2 pill more every day 2 weeks more!. etc
So "check with your doctor," before withdrawing at all!.

Seems like your doctor should have let you wean of the xanax!. How much xanax were you taking a day!? See if your insurance covers therapy!. The best thing for my anxiety was talk therapy!. Drugs just made me sleepy!. See if it works for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
