I've been through a tough time recently and started self-harming, I knew it was wrong the moment I did it!. I got help and it was the best thing I did, the people undderstood, and my family finally understood me!.
Try and get help from the doctors or your school counsellor!. You will be able to get through what your doing, it just takes time!.
Write down your problems and then they aren't worried about so much!. Good luck!. Hope everything goes ok xxxxWww@Answer-Health@Com

I heard a shrink explain this once on the radio!. Usually the self-harming is a result of some prior trauma!. The person in question was put into a situation, usually repeatedly, that forced them into an "unaware" state of mind!. To protect their own psyche their brain basically shut off during the trauma!. The first, most obvious cause would be sexual abuse, but really any sort of trauma could do it!. A bad accident, war, parents fighting, etc!.!.!.

The mind would eventually learn to do this during ANY sort of undesirable situation!. So while, at one time, the person was blocking off the world so they didn't have to face the ravages of war, eventually they would use the same behavior to avoid mundane situations like the embaressment of spilling coffee on themselves at work!.

The problem is, the mental detachment feels extremely unpleasant for most!. By harming themselves, they could bring themselves out of this detached state!. The pain of the self mutilation would "Wake them up" or "Snap them out of it" And as crazy as it sounds, was far less painful than the mental anguish of what the detached state felt like according to this Doctor!.

He the problem was highly treatable but it was hard getting the patient to accept treatment!. Once under the care of a shrink they usually got better through a combination of Drugs, therapy and mind exercises!. They had to retrain themselves how to deal with unpleasant situations!.

I remember the Doctor I was listening to was one of the pre-eminent scholars on the subject, but unfortunately I can not remember his name!.

And yes, I'd seek help!. From what I heard, it sounded like therapy was very helpful in resolving this issue!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i self-harmed a lot last year, and trust me, try to NOT carry on!.
the more you do it, the more you eventually feel like you HAVE to do it!. and then it gets even harder to ever stop!.

is there an actual reason that started making you self-harm!?
i would just try talking to a friend/ family member about the possible reason and actually tell them you've been treating yourself this way!.
talking to other people can be scary, particularly if you go to a phone-line or something, but i would seriously consider it!.
you shouldn't be going through this alone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Please don't keep doing what you're doing! I used to self harm as well, until someone close to me passed away in an accident!. It made me realize how fragile life is, and how much it hurts to lose someone you love!. He suffered from depression and was strongly against self harm, and I knew if he had known what I was doing to myself he would have been so hurt!. I made the choice to give it up for him, not for myself!. I hated myself and I didn't care if I was doing it more, but I knew he wouldn't have wanted me to carry on like that!. It's been 5 months now!.

It's hard to give it up, but please be strong!. Have you tried To Write Love On Her Arms!?
