Answers:
Depression is not the only sign of bipolar disorder!. My son was dx when he was 17 and only because he was manic that's how I knew something was very wrong!. It is a sad illness but with medication he is just fine!.
Depression is something everyone suffers with from time to time and it helps a lot of people to talk to someone!. Just by the way you asked the question I don't see why you would be afraid of seeing a doctor!. It would depend on the type of insurance you have and your age!. But don't suffer with or about depression because it's such a waste of time!. You seem to be young but old enough to know something is wrong so talk to anyone and everyone about this until someone takes you seriously!.
My son suffered a lot of depression before being dx with bipolar!. The more stress in his life is what pushed him over to the manic side!. Your parents will know then that your in need of help!. I hope they don't wait that long before seeking some for you!.
Good Luck, sweetie!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dont assume you have bipolar right away it could just be depression and by assuming you have it you could convince yourself without knowing you have something you dont!. honestly docters over diagnose people with mental problems these days so dont always believe them and if you are young they cant determine if you have bipolar or not as a teenager because every teen acts bipolar so dont always believe what they sayWww@Answer-Health@Com

The greatest danger you face is fear itself!. Honesty, truthfullness, and trust give a person peace!. Forgiveness and kindness can heal many hurt!. Medications are not the remedy to psycological problems but God is and His promices!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unless you have had a manic episode you're unlikely to get diagnosed with Bipolar, they will most likely treat you for depression!. By all means bring it up but be prepared you may not get the answer you want!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
