How do you cope with stress and feelings of anxiety in the short term?!


Question: How do you cope with stress and feelings of anxiety in the short term!?
It is around 4:30 A!.M!. I could not sleep at all tonight!. For awhile, I was on the phone with a friend from long ago!. Ever since we hung up, I've been crying!. Hard!. I had a lot of flashbacks to negative events that occurred throughout my life!. Old events and more recent stressful situations are bothering me!. I keep thinking that everything is going to get worse than it already is!. I just need to get myself together!. Soon, I have to get ready for work and I can't afford to go there looking like hell!. What can I do to help me cope in the short term!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, face the fact that you won't be at your best, no matter what today!. Eat a good breakfast!. Get two cans of high torque energy drink!. (Full Throttle, Amp or Nos) Have one on your way to work!. Keep your mind on your work!. It will keep it off the hauntings of the night!. Have a reasonable lunch and the second energy drink later this morning!.

If you can get done what is crucial and leave early, do so and go to the mall or do something else you enjoy before going home!. If you have to stay the full day, leave on time and go straight home!.

Resist the temptation to flop out on the sofa!. Run yourself a nice bubble bath!. Do something while it runs!. Have a nice relaxing soak and lie down in your bed!. Allow yourself to fall asleep!. Yes, it's early, but your body needs to conk out and be asleep until you wake up naturally!.

Do not order pizza for delivery!. If you want pizza for dinner, order from work and pick it up on the way home!.

Tomorrow when you are more refreshed and together, I'd sugguest that you seriously consider seeing a therapist!. Bad things happen to good people all the time!. There is nothing to be ashamed in admitting that you need help in getting back on track!. Don't wait until you have a breakdown to get help!. It takes a lot longer to get well if you do!.

Admitting that you have issues and need help is the first step to becoming whole again!. A special vacation, a change in carreer, or other "rewards" may give you temporary relief, but the issues will still be there!. Deal with them so that you can get on with your life!.
