Do you think I could have OCD ?!

Question: Do you think I could have OCD !?
Hi there,
I've been suffering from a number of physical things that I keep seeing my GP about, but he gives me no explanation for!. Eventually he said they could all be caused by stress/anxiety and said I'm having panic attacks but he seemed to think I was exaggerating!.!.!. so I don't want to see him again unless absolutely necessary!.

Does any of this sound like OCD symptoms to you !?

Avoiding certain foods, cause they are 'panicky' like rice, alcohol, ALL MEAT, all fish and coffee!.
Can't eat out in case the food isn't safe (I think it could give me food poisoning even though i've never had this in my life)
Worrying about dirt in public places, or dirt on me (i don't wash excessively though)!.
worrying about dirt in other people's homes (and to ''combat this'' I have to do a sort of breatheing exercise which makes me look very stupid but I can't stop)!.
Worrying I am ill or going to throw up, monitoring myself for signs of food poisoning!.
Can only wear certain clothes dependingWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah, it does sound like OCD, I too have it!. My list is too long to go into too, but my recent one, is I can't put food in my mouth!. I can't touch it, I think I've done something to it like contaminated it!. My mum has put her foot down though, she makes sure I eat, even if she has to make all my food!. Its so annoying as I can't eat all the food I love!.

Concerning yours, I do think seeing another Dr is a good idea!. I know there is no medication for OCD, but there is to calm you if your anxious!. But just talking about your fears can help!.

Take care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

OCD is a funny disorder and has lots of presentations!. We generally only hear of the 'neat-freaks'!. Stand your ground with the GP until you see a specialist!. Make sure you take details, such as you've written here, to the specialist!. DON'T let it go! It can get worse, I've seen!Www@Answer-Health@Com

something is not right!.
It might be OCD, because the things you are doing sound like rituals (thats what they are called when u have OCD)
i would see an OCD specialist, they can help more than anyone on here!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i dont know about OCD but you should definatly see a more sympathetic doctor, obviously somethings not right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like alittle bit of Schizotypal Personality Disorder(u have the way of thinking of odd stuff and unusually things)!. Also something like OCD because you keep montering yourself for food poisoning!.I think alittle Avoidant Personality Disorder cause there is dirt in place where public areas are and u don't want to get anything on you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like it can be OCD!. I lived with a person who had this for years!. Alot of people have a few OCD like habits, but when they interfere with your life, you need to take action!.
Go to a Doc that KNOWS this ailment, a combination of meds and therapy are the most successful course!.
Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

To put it short, I think you do!. OCD is kinda started by anxiety in the beginning i guess, and it's made worse by it too!.
I suggest seeing a psychiatrist who KNOWS what they''re doing, unlike that GP!.
And try and reduce your stress and anxiety by talking to a friend who would understand and try to relax more!.
Also see a psychiatrist! :PWww@Answer-Health@Com

To me, it sounds like kind of a mix of anxiety and OCD!. I think maybe going to a new Dr!. might be good!. A psychiatrist maybe, or one that recognizes GAD and OCD as real disorders and will get to the bottom of your symptoms!.
Don't be ashamed and do not feel like you are all alone!. These are both real conditions and warrant further investigation!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
