Question: How smart is a 2 year old!?
My brother committed suicide recently and has a 2 year old boy!. His mother is pretty stable despite it all and has a strong support network!. Our father killed himself when we were 12 and it had a profound effect on our lives!. Will my nephew be safe from this curse!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is known that depression can be genetic!. So as to whether or not your nephew will suffer from depression, well, its more likely for him than for someone without that genetic history!. But that in and of itself is not a death sentence!.
Resiliency is a mystery!. We don't know why some children are very resilient and others are not!. Some kids, regardless of their support system are just not very resilient, while others with even very shotty support always bounce back and grow!. Hopefully, for your nephew's sake, his mom will provide a good environment for a growing boy and keep an eye on his emotional and behavioral development and seek help if its needed for either herself or her son!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Maybe depression runs in your family, but if there is a good support group and you say that your late brother's wife/girlfriend is a stable person, I think so!. I am sorry that your family has gone through so much!. Maybe family counseling would be beneficial for everyone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
children are very resilient,at such a young age all things being even id say he will be as normal as any other child, after he is older explaine to him how his father passed away(16-18) dont drop a huge bomb on the child at a very hard age say 13 or 14 till then lie, yes i said it lie!.sometimes lies are ok if told for the noble reason!.best of luck to you and im very sorry for your loss i cant imagine your grief, i will include you and your nephew im my prayers tonight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
