Dont neccasarilly hide all the stuff you could use, cus that'll make the urge stronger!

Whenever you feel like 'cutting', do one or all of these things-

Go for a walk!.
Go shopping!.
Ring your mates for a chat!.
Go out round town with your mates!.
Have a nice Long bath!.
Go sit in a room full of people you know(This may feel like torture, but it'll help)!.
Cook something!.
Do a sport!.

Really do anything that requires your attention, and something that'll let you forhget your urges, maybe do something that'll help get your urges out, like 'boxing, karate, football, hockey(any knid of physical activity)!.

Also some people have said that if you crush ice cubes and hole them on your skin, it gives you the same feeling as cutting yourself, it doesn't work for me, but it mite do for you, so give it a try ;)

Your life is worth more than that honey, just tell yourself you're better than that!. Try substituting it for something else- anything that you find pleasure in- whether it's the occassional smoothie, chocolate cookie (careful though because obesity can lead to another form of depression) or even just!.!.!.well feminine pleasure!.

there are a set a skills called dbt skills they are mainly used for peiople with bpd but any one can use them there are for catorgories and one is distress tolerance you can look them up on line but some 2 get you started is self soothe, prayer relax do one thing in the moment another catigoray is emotion regulation and some of those are doing opsition to emotion action when you feel like cuuting do something that makes you feel good real good like a bath or your hair or shoping exept emtions build positive experiences

my dr told me to wear a rubberband on my wrist and every time i felt like doing it pop myself it still gives some pain it still gives a little pain but no trips to the hospital for a tetnis shot and stitches! i hardly ever do it now also i only use razors so my fiance hides my razors and i can only shave if he is in there sucks for a girl but at least he is doing what he can to keep me safeWww@Answer-Health@Com
