Am I going mad? Am I mad?!

Question: Am I going mad!? Am I mad!?
I think I've got something wrong with me!.

When I have an object like a pair of scissors, I get overwhelmed by a feeling that I'm going to do something ridiculous like try to chop off my fingers or cut out my tongue!.

It's as though I know I shouldn't do it and I don't want to do it!. But, in knowing I shouldn't, it makes me want to do it; and this terrifies me!.

Or if I have some tweezers, I have a feeling I'm going to tweeze my eyebrows out!. Until, I have none left!.

It even happens when I'm cooking!. If I have a sharp knife!. I get the overwhelming feeling again!. Like, I will stab myself!.

What could be wrong with me!? I don't want to do these stupid things, but it's like I don't trust myself and think I might!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First things first!.!.!.!. Dont worry!!! :)

Everyone to varying extents gets what are called "rogue thoughts" these are odd little ideas that come in to your mind!. Example, There isnt anyone in the world who when standing on the edge of a cliff doesn't have an idle thought of what it would be like to jump off!. its just a by product of the fact that we have imagination!.

But, saying that if these thought come with attached with anxiety then it can be symptomatic of Slight OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), especially if some action or ritual is involved to "make the bad thoughts go away"!. Your comments about eyebrows suggest some traces of OCD!.

I will say again!.!. please try not to worry, everyone has traces of OCD (we will all check if the iron has been turned off!!)

These issues can be made worse by stress, so firstly ask yourself what is stressful in your life at the moment!? try to build relaxation in to your life!. OCD symptoms can also be made worse at the end of your monthly menstrual cycle (if your a lady ;) ) or during adolescence!.

If these problems continue please see a doctor, he will suggest mild form of anti-depressants for the worrying, and a course of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) this is just a few sessions of chatting about your issues and is not something to worry about!. Be wary of doctors that just prescribe medication without CBT!. remember Doctors treat the body and that means pills!.!.!. but the mind needs to talk and some doctors dont think of it like that!.!. get a referral to a good psychologist!.

AGAIN Chill out!! i have known loads of people with OCD Issues!. and i have friends that have turned up to meet me with no eyebrows!.!.!. its just a by product of a stressful world and it doesn't mean your mad anymore than having allergies means your going to die!Www@Answer-Health@Com
