Unable to get no shifts for my work! Please help?!

Question: Unable to get no shifts for my work! Please help!?
I have just finished my exams, as of last week!. I work as a bank (stand in) nursing assistant for a mental health hospital, and normally the nurse bank co ordinator rings me about shifts!. I was unable to work during the exam months, but now I want to get as much work as possible!. I got a shift on Monday when someone rang in sick, and I really enjoyed it, but having rung around all of the wards, they have said that they currently have enough staff etc!. I am running out of money, seeing as I lived off my savings during exam time!. I have even tried the main number for the co ordinator, but it appears to have moved and I dont know what the new number is!. I am trying to sell things on Ebay, but having no luck!. Please help! Many thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Ade,

Aren't there any nursing agencies that you can contact to have your name put on the nursing registry!? That is so much easier than calling each unit of each hospital!. I don't know about Britain, but in the US there are lots of nursing agencies!. Hospitals call the agency and tell them what their needs are for a particular shift!. Then the agency will call the nurses who are on their registry to try to fill the shifts!. You must have something similar there!.

Also, why not simply ask someone in that particular hospital what the new number is for the coordinator!. Surely, someone that works at the hospital has the number!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
