Laziness or uncontrollable mental blockage?!

Question: Laziness or uncontrollable mental blockage!?
I'd like to start this question off with groups of people:

1!.afraid to leave their house
2!. feel incapable of doing anything right in school, social, or careerwise
3!. are suicidal or cutters
4!. Spend more time obsessing about things and thinking about the past than actually living in the present!.

These are just a few examples!. For years i've thought depression was merely an uncontrollable mental problem but there are some people who say it's merely a lazy brain, as in too lazy to see your potential!. But isn't it that the brain that these people have is so overworked with worry, frustration, confusion, regret, and compulsions that it's actually a, for lack of a better phrase, "never relaxing brain!." So I guess my question is, what affects me and so many others, is lack of being able to cope with life due to a lazy brain or is there really some kind of blockage or some out of control thing the prevents us from reaching our potential!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Depression is a valid MEDICAL condition!. It is caused by a real chemical imbalance in the brain!.

Willpower really has nothing to do with it!. People with Depression and other mental health problems often feel guilty and ashamed!. However, it's a lot like if people with Cancer or Epilepsy or any other medical condition felt guilty!. It's not their fault and they shouldn't be ashamed!.

The only way to overcome your feelings is with professional treatment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I believe the "brain" is indeed never relaxing and it's very tiring! There is a difference between being emotionally exhausted and being lazy!.

Believe it or not, some docs have used ADD drugs to treat this type of depression, such as Aderrall!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
