Very depressed just now?!

Question: Very depressed just now!?
I am on Flueoxitine and Beta Blockers and was actually doing ok until last week!. Then my Mum and Dad broke it to me that we were selling the house I have lived in for 15 years and I love it to bits!. I also dont have much money coming in just now because I work as a supply nursing assistant for a mental health ward and they dont need many people on just now!. I have tried taking my mind off it such as coming on here, selling on Ebay etc, but the problem is that if I am not working then I find myself getting depressed!. My Dad is moving to Edinburgh to do a degree and my Mum is taking me to live with her down in the village (we live in a quiet, isolated area just now with hardly any neighbours)!. I am absolutely dreading it; it is near my Nans and when I go round to see her, her neighbours are noisy, and the area is full of kids so I am worried I wont be able to study in peace when I return to college, plus it is next door to a pub (again, noise)!. I have taken the news very badly and haveWww@Answer-Health@Com

A multidimensional approach to treating depression without medication follows!. All except for no!. (7!.) are safe to use with medication, but not St!. John's wort, because of interactions, and it's sensible to check out anything else first with your doctor!.

(1!.) Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily: (certified free of mercury) it is best if consumed with an antioxidant, such as an orange, or grapefruit, or their FRESHLY SQUEEZED juice!. If vitamin E is added, it should be certified as being 100% from natural sources, or it may be synthetic: avoid it!.

(2!.) Work up slowly to at least 20 minutes minutes of exercise, daily, or 30 - 60 mns, 5 times weekly!. Too much exercise can cause stress, which isn't wanted when dealing with depression!.

(3!.) Occupational therapy (keeping busy allows little time for unproductive introspection, and keeps mental activity out of less desirable areas of the brain)!.

(4!.) Use daily, one of the relaxation methods in sections 2, 2!.c, 2!.i, or 11, and/or yoga, Tai Chi, and/or the EFT, in sections 2!.q, 2!.o, and section 53, at http://www!.ezy-build!.net!.nz/~shaneris whichever works best for you!.

(5!.) Initially, at least, some form of counselling, preferably either Cognitive Behavio(u)ral Therapy, or Rational Emotive Behavio(u)ral Therapy!.

(6!.) Maintain a mood chart, and daily activities schedule, as per page Z!.12, in section 2, at ezy build!.

(7!.) As options, if desired, either a known, effective herbal remedy, such as St!. John's wort, 900 mg (standardised hypericin content) 3 times daily, totalling around 2,700 mg, or supplements, such as SAMe, taken with a vitamin B complex which is certified as being 100% of natural origin, or Inositol (from vitamin and health food stores, some supermarkets, or mail order: view section 55)!.

Also, 80% of people in the Western world have low magnesium levels, and these are known to cause depression & anxiety!. Try the magnesium supplement types shown in http://www!.real-depression-help!.com/ Some of these will be available in pharmacies, or supermarkets!.

An improvement can be noticed in as little as a week, if a deficiency is the cause!. Also, iodised salt is preferable to regular salt!. This is a shortened version of the much more comprehensive post, which may be seen on page Z!.12, in section 2 of ezy build, above, but to gain full appreciation, it's really best to view the whole of section 2!. ~~~ If you are already taking antidepressants, and want to use the wort, I suggest that you taper off the antidepressant, over at least 2 weeks, with medical advice as to how long to take, before beginning the wort!. =============== ================ ================= ================= There are now cheaper noise cancelling earbuds, and headphones than the Bose ones, and you can always wear earplugs, or earmuffs, and have music, or a radio tuned off station, producing white noise, with the volume up, to drown out other noise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Ade,

It sounds like you are going through a really rough stage right now!. There are a lot of unknowns facing you, and the knowns are not very appealing!. I don't think that I would be too happy about moving out of my comfortable house to go live in a noisey place either!. The job situation is added stress!. Also, it sounds like there is a lot of suppressed anger, and it doesn't sound like you are getting a lot of support!.

Are your parents splitting up permanently or is it a temporary arrangement!? Do they know how distraught you are feeling right now!? I'm guessing that they don't know realize the depth off your mental anguish, but they may be caught up in their own stress to notice!. Please don't ruin your life with cutting - this will not help your job prospects or change the situation!.

Ade, do you like to run!? I would say take up something that gets you outside and exercising!. The endorphin release from an aerobic activity will calm your mind a bit and give you more patience!. Be careful with the Valium - it is supposed to take the edge off the anxiety, but you don't want to become dependent on it!. Also, keep an open mind about your work - if it doesn't work out, move on to something else!. Don't wait around for the phone to ring; find something else!. You must keep busy!.

Everyone goes through some tough times in life - you are in one now!. You will survive, but don't cave in to self-destructive activities!. You are too smart for that girl!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
