A couple of drinks now and again is fine!. But you shouldn't drink regularly because alcohol is a natural depressant and will counteract the effect of the antidepressants!. It won't make you ill or anything if you DO drink a lot, but it just means the antidepressants won't work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree that a small amount of alcohol is fine!. I do take SSRI's and have the occasional beer, but you do have to be careful as drinking on the makes people feel tired!. I have had a drink with a meal and felt tired afterwards!. Never drink (even one beer) on tablets, then drive!. A lot of alcohol can be toxic and stop the pills from working!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its not the best idea, but its not gonna make you ill, but it will interfere with the effectiveness of the citalopram!.

If you want to have a couple every now and then, thats ok, but if you are thinking of drinking 3 or 4 nights a week, then no, dont do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It will state not to drink alcohol is a depressant and citalopram is reversing these affects!! I have tried many anti depressants that state not to drink, and ive now and again had a drink but on that day ive avoided the tablet and continues as if ive just missed a dose!. i wouldnt recoment this every weekend though - i drink only on special occasionsWww@Answer-Health@Com

pretty much all meds say to not drink alcohol with it!.!.!.!.!.some can intensify the effect, and make you messed up, but not citalopram!.!.!.i used to take it for a year and i drank a little during that time, and it didnt do anything bad too me!. your fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had a few drinks on it, and i think its ok to drink maybe 2 small glasses of wine, and no more!.
Dont do what i did, and get totally slaughtered on alcohol, while you are taking them, because believe me,that was NOT nice!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My doc told me I can drink but try not to drink too much or too often!. I have found no problems yet and that includes a massive night out for my birthday!. You should be fine, there are not an y known side affects of mixing them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

NO NO NO

My partner took it for a week - just a week and decided that being drunk on it was sensible!. It was not!. He can't remember what happened for most of that week - bu the did cheat on me!. Twice!. And felt awful afterwards!.

Don't do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've found my reaction to booze completely hit and miss!. Sometimes it's fine and othertimes it has terrible side effects!. After a few i always stop and you should too!. I've passed out before and been really ill!. It really wasn't worth it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The combination of citalopram and alcohol is not advisable!. However clinical studies have revealed no adverse pharmacodynamic interactions between citalopram and alcohol!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello there,
It's not dangerous to have a drink, but if you drink regularly, it might make the drug less effective!. Just strike a balance!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
