Do mental problems sometimes just "go away" ?!

Question: Do mental problems sometimes just "go away" !?
I feel a little better today, no flashing ideations, compulsions, or violent thoughts!.

If I'm beginning to feel better, maybe I don't have to tell my therapist what I've been thinking about lately!?

It would be embarassing!. [nightmares, violent thoughts, urges to harm people and animals, obsessing over killing people]Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
sometimes they "just go away", this is usually done by a process of self realization on consciousness!. All good therapy (there are hundreds of types of therapy) does one thing: brings the client to a point of "letting go" which allows healing to take place!.

Usually this is done by getting the client to a) realize there is a problem and b) getting in touch with the problem and c) finding solution(s) to let go of the problem!.

there is a method called "the Sedona Method" (google it for more in depth info and help), here is a summary:

1: Connect to the uncomfortable feeling/emotional state that you do not want to experience (either current or something from your past)!. Allow yourself to welcome the feeling!. Ask yourself: "Could I let myself really feel this!? Experience it and identify it if you can!. Don't worry if you can't put a good descriptive word to it - just a feel-sense of it is fine too!. The more clearly you can isolate the feeling, the easier it is to let go of!.

Step 2: Next, ask yourself the following three question, taking time on each to feel within:

1!. Can I let this (situation/thoughts) go!?

2!. Will I let this (situation/thoughts) go!?

3!. When!?

If the answer is 'no' to the first two questions, or 'later' to the last one, listen to your inner voice to find the reasons why you cannot or will not let go, or will not let go right now!. This in itself is very revealing!. Ask yourself if holding onto that resistance has made you happy in the past!. Chances are it has never led to happiness and so, see if you are willing to let that resistance go!.

If you're not willing to let go of the resistance, change the focus from the unwanted feeling to your resistance to letting go!. And repeat the two-step exercise on 'not wanting to let this go'!. Do this repeatedly on what gets in the way until you can let go of the original feelings!. Be methodical and you will end up letting go!.

If you answer yes and NOW to the above three questions, sit quietly and allow yourself to sense the shift within you!. Take a deep cleansing breath!. Then tune in to whatever feeling/emotional state surfaces next!. Repeat the process on that new emotional state!.

Note: if your problem has been such since you where a young child, you may have a situation where your brain chemistry or formation is problematic, in which case you need a MRI!. It seems though that you have some emotions that you need to understand and become aware of!. Perhaps you are already getting in touch with what you need to know to feel much better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think aspects or symptoms of mental illness can change and fluctuate!. Sometimes people who are really anxious may appear less so, others who are depressed may be feeling a bit up without any clear explanations!.

However I don't think you can assume a change in the symptoms equates to a change in the underlying mental illness!. It is clear from the thinking that you have listed that you are experiencing a range of symptoms that you cannot afford to dismiss simply because on some days these thoughts are somewhat quieter!.

So I encourage you to raise them with your therapist, for all that they are embarassing, I think the concern they should be causeing you far outweights any embarrassment!. I am sure your therapist has heard it all before!.

Perhaps you could keep a journal of these thoughts and nightmares and then just give the journal to your therapist, that way you don't have to recall them all or feel embarrassed recounting them all!.

Be safe, be sageWww@Answer-Health@Com

I know exactly what you mean!. I had those same thoughts!. It is really hard to tell your therapists or anyone about them but you should!. If I can do it, then you can!. It was really hard to get the words out but you really should tell everything otherwise what are you going for!. It was really embarrassing for me to say it but I had to!. There are things you can do such as meditation, breathing exercises, yoga, tai chi, etc!.!.!.
I asked my therapist, do you have other people besides me that think this way!? She said, "yes"

So we are not the only one's out here that have crazy thoughts like that!. You are not crazy, your thoughts are!. You will get thru this but it will not happen overnight!. You must be honest with your therapists!. They need to know everything you think and what you feel in order to help you!.

I have read lots of stories about how people lie to the therapists or only tell 1/2 the truth!. That is not good!. Please be brave and just say it!. Once you do and it gets off your chest, you can move on to other things!. If you don't then it will always remain and could do some harm later!.

Good luck!. I really do feel your pain!. As I am currently going thru the same thing!. If you need any support or just want to chat about anything, feel free to send me a msg!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's certainly possible to cover up how you feel and pretend that everything is fine, but sooner or later you need to deal with what has brought you to this place!. Recognise that it is the therapy which is helping you to feel better!. It's entirely your choice what you tell your therapist, but if you don't tell her/him the truth s/he can't help you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

they would come and go with the changes in the chemistry of your body!.

i would highly recommend telling your therapist everything that you have been thinking and feeling so he/she can help you!. if you with hold any piece of information no matter how small it may seem to you they won't be able to help you fully!.

hope it helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

seeing as you are already seeing a therapist, it would be best if you tell them!. your therapist can teach you skills to deal with them, and even though you don't have them at this moment, they can happen again, so you are much better off being prepared!.

don't feel embarrassed!. i'm sure that it is not something that your therapist hasn't heard before!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no you must tell your therapist!. they encounter dozens of people with all kinds of thoughts!. it is nothing new to them!. they can only help!. pl be open and frank and regular!. get well soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
