Answers:
I think it depends on the kind of mental illness the individuals are suffering from!. People with Borderline and the other personality disorders would have a hard time getting along with others like them!. However, I think individuals who have Depression or milder forms of Bipolar would get along well with each other because they're more able to understand where that person is coming from!.

It's also important to remember people with mental illness are not simply defined by them!. There are many factors that determine if two individuals will get along (or not get along), not just their mental illness!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Maybe you are attracted to them because you believe you can change or save them from their problems and when you can't you realize they are not the person for you!. Mental illness is very serious and it takes years of help from professional persons who understand what is going on!. Even if two people are both diagnosed with the same illness this does not mean they are alike!. Two mentally ill people can make it together, but it takes a lot of effort and all the effort that it does take requires a TRUE LOVE and a relationship which both persons are there for the other no matter what!. When it gets tough and believe me it will, that is when you must be willing to work the hardest!. It helps when most of the issues can be dealt with, with the help of a professional!.
My husband and I both have bi-polar and we have been together five years!. We plan to do whatever it takes to make sure we stay together forever!. However, it took me until the age of forty two years old to be ready for this type relationship!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think it depends on the person,as we all are different!.a person might have the same mental health diagnosis and yes, some can not get alone due to similarities!.I have DID and so does my husband!.It is very challenging as sometimes our insiders might disagree about things, but we work through them and negoitiate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I completly understand what you're saying and after the bad experiance I've had I'm staying away from people who have problems b/c they drag you down and try to take you under with them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
