I have a restless mind and can't fall asleep at night.?!


Question: I have a restless mind and can't fall asleep at night!.!?
Basically, I have a horrible form of Insomnia!. I think it's called "Fear Insomnia!." Whenever I try to fall asleep, it doesn't work!. I have to re-think everything that I did that day and how I could have improved / done better!. I also think of things that I had done prior to that day, as in, years ago!. I think of all my faults and about what other people must think of me!. Unfortunately, I also have to think about my most embarassing moments!. You know!. The ones that make you cringe whenever you think of them!? Yeah!. That!. It's horrible!. I haven't tried sleeping pills!. The reason being: They don't work!. I see it everywhere on the internet that it wasn't the best way to fall asleep!. They also administer an artificial form of sleep, so I wouldn't be getting the best sleep I could possibly get!. Don't tell me to try sleeping pills, because I won't!. I have also tried reciting a mantra!. I say "Ohmu" over and over again to try and clear my mind, but sometimes (most of the time) it doesn't work!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have never had anything as severe as this but whenever I'm really stressed out I have trouble sleeping because I go over everything I'm stressed out about in my head!. I tried writing everything I was thinking down in a notebook and then I would tell myself that I don't need to think about it anymore because it's written down!. I think you should try that!. I really hope it works out - I know how much it sucks to want to go to sleep and not be able to!.
Edit: I just read the other posts and I think you should go see a doctor!. It turns out that I have OCD and it was contributing to my trouble sleeping!. Even if you don't have anything, I'm sure a visit to the doctor wouldn't hurt :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

didnt read all of the info!.!.but I used to have baaaaaad insomnia!.!.!.i took valerian(natural plant herb you can at any store) and just layed down in a comfy spot and zone into the tv and the tv basically hypnotized me to sleep!.!.!.also get some exersice or a sport in in the afternoon evening hours that would help too!.!.!.and no caffeine or anything like that a few hours before bedWww@Answer-Health@Com

I know this feeling, although my problem probably isn't as extreme as yours!. Your body is tired, but your mind just won't shut off!. It feels like you have cotton in your head!. I just try to go to bed when I am as tired as I possibly could be!. Then I have no energy to think!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think that would be more classified as an anxiety not sleep disorder!. I think you need to see a councilor and deal with the anxiety disorder!. It is the anxiety disorder that is causing sleeping problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, firstoff I'm no doctor!. I do know what you're feeling though!. mine isnt just what you said but also afraid i'll forget things for tomorrow and i keep a pad and pen by my bed, i stay up, even with the tv off and having "quiet time" for an hour before!. I avoid stimulants at all costs and still to no avail!. My dr told me i have an anxiety disorder and prescribed a medicine for me!. For the first week nothing but then slowly i was able to worry less, think less, sleep more!. I had told her i didnt want something to knock me out, i want to function and dont want anything that will mess with how I am!. I want to be me!. She listened and i find it works!. have you tried a therapist or a psych!? Just a suggestion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
