Taking my depressed sister on holiday?!

Question: Taking my depressed sister on holiday!?
I'm twenty years old and I have a three year old son!. My sister has been depressed for a couple of years now, she is fifteen!. About two years ago we realised she was taking heroin and she had become withdrawn!. I love her very much and did everything I could to help her because I was once an addict!. Since then my sister has had many problems, she has had a lot of different counsellors and been on medication but nothing has helped!. We have been told our only option now is to admit her in a mental ward for however long it takes!. At the moment we're terrified to let her out of our sight because she has had many suicide attempts and we can tell she is unhappy!. I was thinking of taking her to Barcelona for a week in August just so she can have a break!. Just me and her so we can have some time together and she can clear her head!. I'm hoping it will help her back on the right track!. She said she 'thinks she might like it' but doesn't seem overly enthuastic, but she never is!. What do you think!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Forgive me for saying this, but you seem to be much too young to be taking on such a serious responsibility!. You say you realised that your sister was taking heroin when she was 13 years old!. Why!? is my first thought!
You are not much more than a child yourself and what is going to happen to your baby whilst you and your sister are away!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

She is fifteen years old and with that many problems, a vacation could do her well if she is up for it!. However, I firmly believe she needs to see her doctor and therapist before making that decision!. You would not want her to have a bad episode and be too far away from home!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Take the vacation to talk about being admitted, then turn it over to the professionals!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
