Question: I think that my little sister may be having seizures!?!?!?
My sister is almost 2 years old and my family is in the process of getting her professional medical attention I just want to see what someone might say about this!. She seems to be twitching and loosing focus which happens for only a few seconds!. But it is very scary!. She has done it on 3 different days within a 2 month period and it happened about 3-4 times each day within about an hour or more difference!. She sometimes gets pale and seems upset about it!. she is very tired after it happens!. She has no known allergies and shes healthy!. Please if you know anything about this please answer!. I just want to know what i may have to fear!. =(

It does sound like she is having seizures, which can be treated with proper diagnosis & treatment!. Her doctor should have her sent to a neurologist & have an EEG done which will tell for sure wether they are seizures!. Having seizures can be very scary not only for the patient, but those around them as well!. The most important thing is to stay calm, you are better help to your sister calm than freaked out! there are so many different types of seizures, it is very possible that this is what is happening to your sister!. the doctor's will be able to diagnose her, and if it is the case, get her on medication that will control it!. in some cases children outgrow their seizures, so don't fear !Www@Answer-Health@Com
It sure sounds like she is having seizures, however very mild!. As I understand if you have had them repeatedly, it is epilepsy!. My mother has very severe seizures!. She seizes up in a C shape and starteds jerking and foaming at the mouth!. Her body becomes very stiff and heavy, she turns purple and often bites her tongue!. After she is very sleepy and often does not recognize us!. they think is was caused by blow to the head as a child!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Sounds like a petit mal seizure!. Could be an indication of epilepsy!. On the other hand, I'm not a doctor!. You should never ask for medical help on the internet!. Let your family get your sister medical help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
What you are describing sounds like she is having seizures!. Because she is very young she could outgrow it!. Seizures are well controlled with medications too!. Seizures aren't anything to be frightened of!. What is actually happening is the circuits of her brain are firing simultaneously and its like a short circuit!. What is important to know is that she isn't in emergent danger!. What is an emergency are the A-B-C's (airway, breathing, circulation)!. None of these things are affected!. What you want to do is time them and keep a record of them!. What may happen is that she will wear some electrodes and a battery pack for a few days to see how many she is having and how long they last!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
