Question: Schizoaffective!?
I have been in therapy and on medication since I was in my early 20's and am 40 now!.
I asked my counselor what my diagonis was because I wasnt really told since I had a real bad spell some 5 years ago!.
She told me to get some info on my type and bring it in next session to discuss it!.
Can anyone give me some GOOD info links (not Wikipedia) !?
She said I am diagnosed with :
Schizoaffective Disorder / Type: Schizophrenia

Schizoaffective is a combination of schizophrenia and a mood disorder!. There are two types of schizoaffective disorder: depressive type, and bipolar type!.
There's no such thing as schizophrenia type!.

Actually, since the schizophrenia part of the disorder is implied, the type should refer to the prevalent mood symptoms!.That is, it is classified as bipolar type or depressive type!. Your counselor gave you the wrong information!. You should have her clarify that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Schizoaffective is a combination of Schizophrenia and mood disorders!. Your counselor should explain it to you!. It's her responsiblity!. If she can't explain it to you to help you understand, then she's not doing her job!. I'd consider finding a new therapist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
