It's like giving up an addiction to opiates: some few can manage it, but it works best if they have an insight as to why they adopted that form of behaviour, and have a support base of some sort: friends, and/or family!. They also need to have something to fill the void that its absence will create, and an effective coping strategy for when they encounter it again, to avoid re - triggering it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the person is really willing to do it, yes it can! It's possible to that if the person is going to work out a way from it, very determined to do it even how hard is the way out!. But getting an outside help is easier to do!.

Whether it's self-help or from an outside help, it's all up to the person to be successful in quitting with that destructive behavior!. It's the person's choice to win or fail!. The will to stop or not is entirely on his/her shoulder!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think if the person has good reasons to change, they will try to!. even if they may regress a bit before they completely make any progress, i think that if a person had enough motivation for themselves, they will!.
however, most people who are involved in ong term self destructive behavior will rarely find a good enough reason to change their ways-- especially when its "worked" so well for them before!.
i think one of the many reasons for therapy and outside help is,
getting the person to realize that "good enough reason" whatever it may be!.!.!.
among support, and etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, but it is not easy!. You must first understand who's b/s that you believe!. Who told you, you were not deserving of self respect!. and was the cause of your poor self image, and low self esteem!.
Then see yourself as the person you want to be!. Your "idealized self"!. Then start taking the steps needed to become that person!. The new you will be validated by others and then finally yourself!. At that point you will have become a person that will create the reality that you want and deserve!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Empowerment can mean many things to many different people!. It fundamentally implies that someone does not have power over some part of their life and are debilitated by this lack of power!.You must learn how to empower yourself and others around you and develop your empowerment skills so that each year you are better at this than the year before!. All of that is not easy, but, anything less than that is usually fruitless and often damaging to both yourself and to others!.

LETS defining alienation from self and others as follows: "Alienation from self involves distance from one's capacity to feel, to be in touch with one's body and senses and from one's capacity to think, to fully perceive and understand one's social world!. Alienation from others involves seeing others and relating to them as objects - not seeing them as full human beings like oneself!."//////
FEELINGS
Our feelings don't just magically arise from within us!. They are the direct products of the total environment that surrounds us as interpreted through our own innate, genetically influenced mind!. ////

THINKING

When we are alienated from our thinking then we are not thinking critically!. Critical thinking is:

OUR ACTIVE, PURPOSEFUL, AND ORGANIZED EFFORTS TO

MAKE SENSE OF OUR WORLD BY CAREFULLY EXAMINING OUR

THINKING AND THE THINKING OF OTHERS IN ORDER TO

CLARIFY AND IMPROVE OUR UNDERSTANDING AND, IN SO

DOING, IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF OUR ACTIONS!.

And, don't tell yourself that you will start doing so when you get a better job or more money in the bank or!.!.!.whatever!. No matter what your circumstances, you can and you need to start and continue to empower yourself and others NOW!

So stop reading this and get busy!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I believe with motivation and determination you can do anything you want!. Now stop it stop it stop it, you are worth too much to be thrown away, good greif! you may not realize all the people around you that care about you and look up to you, you may influence someone else to stay living or even to do great things, give yourself a chance ok!?

hang in there, don't let them win!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think they can, i mean i went to the hospital like twice, i stopped though, cuz once i cut my thigh too deep, very scary experience, i had alot of ppl worried and i was thretened with being put back in the hospital!.
i do still have the urge to cut though, but something stops me, i think it's god, i've tried to kill myself dozen times, but never succeeded, something always went wrong, or right!.!.!.!.!.!.i guess i'm meant to live!.
btw, not trying to be all relgious on you or nuttin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes they can, and sometimes only on their own is the only way!. You need to cut co-dependencies and realize your own responsibility of being the person you want to be!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
