Is constantly thinking someone is in your house a disorder or something?!

Question: Is constantly thinking someone is in your house a disorder or something!?
Whenever I come home I always check every room, move the shower curtain, check under the beds and in the closets!. It does not matter if I am gone for 2 days or 10 minutes!.

I do not live in a bad area at all!. I have always done this where I have lived!. Where I grew up it was a very good area, so It has nothing to do with living around crime!.

I live with my 4 year old son, but even when I was married I still did this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Although the behavior suggests you may be somewhat insecure regarding the safety/security of your home, from what you have described, these behaviors have not reached the point where they have become severely pathological (hence, no specific diagnosis would apply)!.

Were the behaviors to escalate (e!.g!., you found yourself spending an hour or more daily checking and rechecking rooms for intruders; you began instituting the same checking behaviors in the workplace or friends' homes; you become fearful enough of intruders to refuse to leave your home), at that point, other diagnostic possibilities would need to be considered!.

You never know, my sister had a maintenance man coming in her apt when her and her roommate were gone!. Just be discreet in front of your son so he doesnt start to worry about it himself!. Also I read in the news a cpl wks ago about a japanese man who had a woman living in his closet!. If it makes you feel safe then do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Could be Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, loads of people have an OCD with different things!.
Doesn't sound like a particularly bad one though!. It's like you're just making sure everyone is safe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like a slight disorder to me!.!. but it could also be classified as schizophrenia, so you might want to talk to a therapist or someone about those feelings!.
