Answers:
ADHD/ADD almost always occurs with other mental health conditions!.!.!.

If I were you I'd be looking into bi-polar disorders and oppositional defiant disorder!.

The behaviors you mentioned do not sound like symptoms of ADHD on their own!. You should consider having your daughter see a psychiatrist that specializes in adolescents!.

GOOD LUCK!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My daughter is 6 and she has adhd i've done alot of reading on it and it does not sound like it!. She was also diagniosed with ODD (oppisitional defient disorder) here are some web sites to look at

I'm sorry this doesn't sound like ADD or ADHD!. The symptoms you are explaining sound something more on the line of bipolar, Schizophrenia, or something similarWww@Answer-Health@Com

She really does sound bipolar to me - call and talk to a doctor!. She'll need medication to control that!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My son has ADHD!. This doesn't sound like ADHD!. However some of it sounds like this other quirky thing my son also has, which took YEARS for a doctor (allergist) to confirm: he cannot tolerate anything with Red Dye #40 in it! He goes nuts, is rude, obnoxious, mean, and aggressive!! He noticed this years ago, and we now read labels for all foods he eats!. Even Hi-C had it in it! Cake mixes often do! It is a rare but real reaction to this chemical!.
Try to keep her totally away for 2 weeks, then give her a dose of something like Twizzlers red licorice and watch what happens! Scary!!

The other thing to be concerned and alert for: bipolar disorder!. It is so overly diagnosised now, but it does emerge in early to mid teen years!.
I recommend the National Institute for Mental Health for good reference materials!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Without meeting your daughter, i can not possibly even attempt to place a diagnosis on her, but what i can tell you, is that my little sister has got A!.D!.H!.D!. In theory, she is just like your average teenage girl!. In-fact, to an outsider, there would appear to be nothing wrong with her!. Sometimes she acts silly at home, but i know she can control her behavior, because she would not dare to show herself up in front of her mates!.

Although, when she was younger, she was completely out of control!. I think she got into the most trouble between the age of 12-13!. I lost count of the number of times we had the police round regarding her!. Some of the things she was doing were unbelievable!. To be honest, i am surprised she did not end up in prison!. Thankfully, now she has calmed down and is a normal teenager !

People say that the artificial colors and flavorings in sweets can cause hyperactivity, but i do not believe in all that!. I think it mainly applies to younger children!.

If you want some information on A!.D!.H!.D, then try searching it on google!. There are various sites that give you a list of the signs and symptoms!. Although, it is important to remember not to believe everything you read!. The symptoms are varied for each individual!.

Anyway, what does it matter what is wrong with your daughter !? Having a medical diagnosis will only give her an excuse for her bad behaviour!. I am a strong believer in dicipline!. If she misbehaves, punish her, and stick to it!. No matter how much she plays up, do not give in to her!. Undoubtebly, it will be hard at first, and she will push you to your limit but gradually, you will see an improvement!.

I know things are hard for you at the moment, but in time, things will get better, i promise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can't possibly begin to diagnose your daughter, but this sounds like more than ADHD!. First of all, high levels of sugar are not good for someone with ADHD!. I think the first thing you might consider is educating yourself about this disorder!. Your daughter should be on medication and would probably benefit from therapy, as well!. For that matter, family therapy might be a good idea!. As an outsider, it sounds like your daughter runs the household, which is a problem, since she is sixteen years old!. You have two years before you will lose many of your rights as a parent!. When your daughter is eighteen, she can pretty much do as she chooses!. I would try very hard to get her help now!. You need to be "connecting the dots" and getting all the information and help you possibly can!. You need ongoing communication with a doctor and therapist who are helping your daughter!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
