I know its late, but i really need good advice?!

Question: I know its late, but i really need good advice!?
This might sound silly to some, but i've cried and prayed about it so hardly tonight!.

I'm torn over what to do!. Both my parents are in bad physical shape!. I'm planned to start medical school this august!. Although my dream is to help the poor medically around the world; i feel that a big big big big priority of mine is to take care of my parents!. i'm seriously worried something might happen to them as i'm in medical school!.

i want to take care of them financially (right now) but working some where and enjoying life with them and not waiting 4 years or more!. i would regret if i was in school and something happened to them, and wont forgive myself for it!.

i would also regret later on in life if i never purused my dream of helping people as a physican!.

i graduated 2 years ago from undergrad and worked hard to start school in august!.

i'm scared, and sad!. and would really appreciate your advice!. please no rude comments or arrogant comments!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Think to yourself, will you be able to assist them more now, or as a doctor accompanied by a large paycheck!.

If you are truly worried about them, get an in home nurse or the like, it will relive some of your stress so you can continue perusing your dream!.

Try to think about the good side of things, not just the negative!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think I would go for it!. Maybe set aside enough money and resources to be back quick if anything were to happen!. I dont think they would want you to postpone what could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for something that will come eventually anyway!. You must have worked hard to get where you are, they probably wouldnt want you to stop now!.
--If you can feel comfortable in arrangements to get back to them at the drop of a hat, you will be able to focus and they would rest easy too!.
--good luck ;)Www@Answer-Health@Com

when you say that they are in bad physical shape, how bad do you mean!?

from what i gather, it sounds like they might pass soon (god forbid) but it might be worth considering taking a break from your higher education to spend time with them!.!.

if you work hard at medical school and stick to it, you will succeed!.

my advice to you is to focus on what you can do to help your parents and do it to the very best of your ability!

try not to focus on things you cant change and focus on what you can :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Everything will be fine!.

Here is ONE plan!.

You can all live together, and hire a nurse that can watch over them while you are at school!. This can be an all time nurse (except for the days when you are free)!.

This way, someone trained can watch over them and you can still live together!.

Pray to God and ask Him this-
ask Him for a sign!. This can be any sign-but something rare!. It can't be something general, like a red rose!. You can see those everywhere!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Here is the best advice that I can offer you!.!.!.!.and it is from God!.!.!.!.

" In ALL THY WAYS acknowledge Him and He SHALL direct thy paths!." Proverbs 3:6

BELIEVE that!.!.!.!.because God cannot lie!. (Titus 1:2)

I will pray for God to open and shut doors to show you the
path you should take!.

Talk to your parents about your dilema!. I'm sure they want you to finish school!. Figure out a way where they can help themselves!. Going to school can both help you and your parents in the long run!. Can they live near you while you go to school!? You can try to be a certified nursing assistant on the weekends to earn good money!. Then you can go to school on the weekdays!. Can they help themselves even a little bit!? Is there family that can help!? Going to med school will be a temporary sacrifice to obtain a permanent lucrative career!. Talk to them and see what they can do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not silly actually!. Most people often wonder about the same thing!. I know I did before I joined the Army!. I had these thoughts of something happening to my parents and I wouldn't be around to do anything!. Long story short, I managed 20 years in the Army and my parents are fine!. I can't say for your particular situation because I don't know all the details about the health!. I would say if you have reasonable expectations that they will be fine while you're away ie!. being taken care of by someone such as a provider then that is the best you could do being there!. So, follow your dreams and become a doctor!. In the end, it will work out and you will still have your parents and your degree and life long dream!. No one knows what the future holds!. Your parents would probably want you to follow your dream!. Good luck in whatever you decide!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wow, I can't imagine being in your shoes!. I know you're not searching for flattery but many people would admire your heart with both of the things you want to accomplish!.!.!. 1!. Helping your parents 2!. Helping the less fortunate!.

I think the biggest gift you should give yourself, is to be free of guilt for the decision you make!. Either way it is a self-less decision, right!? And furthermore, (not that you necessarily have to consider what your parents say because you're an adult now) perhaps your parents want to see you go through with your schooling right now!.

I certainly don't envy the situation your in, and I respect it, and it's probably true that you could delay your schooling as well, but I think I would try talking to a therapist/counselor/pastor/rabbi about it before you drop out of for fall semester!.

I wish you the best of luck and I wish better health for your parents!. Please don't be too hard on yourself with whatever decision you make!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some of the greatest achievements can take place when we're afraid!. Fear quickens the spirit and focuses the mind (although it can also paralyze us)!.

My best decisions have been made when I approached a desire or goal rather than when I avoided a fear or a challenge!. If this applies at all to you, I think it suggests you should follow your dream!. You seem to have a faith, so that should help you deal with your uncertainties!. But you know all the details, many of which aren't presented; so there may be another side!.

People do die!. Sometimes it makes sense to try and help, other times it doesn't!. Only you can decide!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you should talk to your parents and try to work out a workable system!.

Even if you stay home, you will not be able to change their illness or change their lives!. They might be more comfortable, and you certainly would feel less guilty!. But: if you don't go to med-school now, you'll feel like you've missed out on life!.!.!. and it might be very difficult to go later (you'll be older, you might have something else to do etc!.)!.

In my opinion, you should go to med school but at the same time, try an figure out some way of making sure that your parents are okay!.

Talk to your parents and make sure that they know that you worry about them, and so should accept help and support from others too!. If you can't talk to your parents, you'll just need to make your own choices!.

It's very tough, as you'll feel either guilty and selfish or cheated and resentful!. Usually though not living your own life, doesn't really help anyone, and will only ruin your future!. That's a price too big to pay for not feeling guilty now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
