Need a diagnosis!?!

Question: Need a diagnosis!!?
OK, im male, 17 and have felt 'strange' for about three years!. it started off as depression in 2005 which turned to anxiety then complete lunacy in 2006!. I was sent to the doctors who refered me to a psychologist and we talked, i was doing fine!. I always used to drink on the weekends and smoke quite a lot but i was never ever on medication and never touched drugs (until!.!.!.) and in 2005 i went barmy!. I started to self harm and threaten people i loved, saying i was going to kill them, i got sectioned on september 28th 2007 and later diagnoses with psychosis!. I was given zuclopenthixol (an old anti-psychotic medication) but i felt terrible on it so i stopped it!. Earlier this year in about april i felt so **** i started smoking cannabis, it started off as every so often but in may it was everyday, a joint a day, and in may i went mad again! i was seeing, hearing, smelling, feeling, tasting things that were not there and threatening to kill again!. My psychiatrist wont give me a diagnosis!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can't diagnose you, but I can tell you it sounds like schizo-effective bipolar!. My husband came home one day and said he didn't feel right!.!.!. said he was suicidal!. After being in the hospital for observation, he described the feelings you are having!. He said it was like having a demon in him he couldn't control!.!.!. It also sounds very psychotic like!.

If you don't think your psychiatrist is prescribing the right medicines, tell him or her!. They will give you something else until the find the right mixture of meds for you!. They don't know how to help you if you don't talk to them!. It also doesn't help to bounce around to different doctors!. Stay with one unless they are just doing nothing!. There are good and bad doctors out there, but unfortunately, as soon as you are daignosed with a mood or mental disorder, you lose credibility if you bounce from doctor to doctor!. You also lose time you could have been working on that perfect mix of meds you need to live as normally as possible!.

It is not abnormal to try to self medicate with drugs to make yourself feel better!. You still shouldn't do it yourself!. Keep seeing that doctor!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

look first off what you need to do is get clear of all of the crap in your body!.!.!.!. go sober for 6 months and try to flush it out then after that see what your real behavior is like and get a diagnosis for that!. Your are all hyped up on crap right now and you need to egt it out of your system before you can see what is really going wrong in your body!.!.!. GL its tough
fix it before it is too lateWww@Answer-Health@Com

It is not ethical for any professional to give you a diagnosis without meeting you!. Anyone who answers your questions is either unethical or unqualified!. Insist your doctor tell you your diagnosis!. It is part of the informed consent ethics you are guaranteed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just take it easy and let your doc know you don't think the drugs are helping!. It is ultimately up to you to find your proper way to handle your deposition so !.!.!.just take a deep breath realize its not just you and you have options!.!.!.just use them!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are still a minor!. Some diagnoses cannot be declared for children because your mind is still developing!. If it was an adult who experienced these things, maybe schizophrenia!. Google it if you are curious!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

SEE THE BEST PSYCHIATRIST YOU CAN FIND!. STOP THE POT,NOW!. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT YOU NEED HELP BUT YOU SHOULD NOT "SELF MEDICATE" AS IT WILL ONLY MAKE YOU WORSE!. TALK TO YOU PASTOR AND REQUEST
HELP!. BEST OF LUCK!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

As several of the posters above have commented, only a psychiatrist or psychologist can diagnose you!. That said, diagnosis is not necessary for the treatment of disorders!. If you feel like you "need" a formal diagnosis, you should discuss that with your psychiatrist!.

Based on the symptoms you're describing here (specifics about what behaviors you engaged in and why you engaged in them are more useful than "acting crazy"), it is impossible to diagnose you with even moderate accuracy!. While hallucinations and synesthesia are occasional symptoms of schizophrenia, you don't appear to have many of the other symptoms of that disorder!. Similarly, while these may occur in bipolar, you don't fit enough of the diagnostic criterion (as presented here) to be considered for it!. In fact, the only description that fits based on what you've provided here is Psychotic Disorder Not Otherwise Specified!. And that's assuming that we can rule out Substance Induced/Related Psychosis and Psychosis Due to General Medical Condition!.

The antipsychotic you were prescribed is not one of the most common, but is certainly not antiquated!. Regardless, you need to let your psychiatrist know you are not currently taking your prescribed medication, discuss the side effects, and consider other treatment options!.

Using cannabis (or any street drug) to self-medicate is risky at best!. Not only are these typically not effective against psychiatric conditions, they can interact with prescription drugs in dangerous ways, and can also affect your ability to be treated using some medications!.

So, in short, you've got some sort of psychotic disorder, the specific name of which is unimportant!. You need to discuss your concerns and recreational drug use with your psychiatrist, and get on an antipsychotic medication immediately!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First you need really good weed if you are going to self-medicate with it!. No street skunk and the like!.!.!.!.good weed will actually level you off and make you focus on what you should be doing and help you move forward!. Bad weed that most people get produces paranoia and munchies!.!.!.!.good weed!.!.!.energy and clarity!.!.!.now that's my speech on that!. As far as your diagnosis it would appear your seriously depressed and bipolar!.!.!.!.check out bipolar!.com and take the test to give to your primary care physician!. Then he can better help you with the specialist in mental issues!. If you file bankruptcy you dont want a medical lawyer you want a banckruptcy lawyer so dont get a generic psyc when you can have one specific in your area of needs!.!.!.!.good luck!.!.!.it will work out!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Peter, first let me say that I won't even try to offer a diagnosis!. There are many questions your description raises, a couple of which are, does your psychiatrist know you are smoking cannabis!? Does your psychiatrist know you are not taking your anti-psychotic medication!? Have you told him/her that your medication made you feel terrible and have you discussed alternatives!? You need to get these hallucinations under control and that probably means taking the right prescribed meds and not using other psychoactive substances like alcohol and cannabis!. If you can talk to a parent about this, please do so and have them help you get back to your doctor--or another one--as soon as possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

sometimes it can be very difficult to diagnose someone in person, let alone over the Internet!. your doctor has probably not given you a diagnosis, yet because or your age and he is not sure!. diagnosing is not an exact science for doctors and they have to rely on the symptoms, and family history!. the best you can do is keep working with your doctor!. sometimes it takes a while to see what medications work best for your symptoms!. smoking pot will not help you and could make things worse, although it is not necessarily the direct result of you symptoms!. i know it is frustrating for you, not to know what is wrong with you, but you are better to keep in touch with your doctor and keep trying until you feel better!. if you are unhappy with your doctor you have a right to see another doctor!. life can be better for you, but it takes trial and error and open and honesty with your doctor to help you!. sounds like you do need to try another medication that you can tolerate!. i have over 30 years experience working in a psychiatric hospital, and i would not diagnose you on line!. the other problem is that you have symptoms from a variety of mental illnesses , which make it difficult to give you an exact diagnosis!. hang in there, and good luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

TRUST me go to a out of town doctor! you need help! that other doctor that isnt helping you is crap!. you have a disorder and need to take a trip to a out of town doctor now! your drugs will be giving you bad messed up dreams and drugs make you see, hear and smell things that arnt even there!your familt isnt worth loosing as you need them so seek help away!. MILLIONS FACE WHAT YOUR GOING THROUGH SO DONT BE IMBARRASED!. ITS TIME TO SEE SOMEONE NEW AND EVEN RING UP A HELP OR CRISES LINE THAT CAN GIVE YOU A FIRST STEP ABOUT WHERE YOU SHOULD GO!. sorry i lefr caps lock on lolWww@Answer-Health@Com

With all due respect, you have a case of thinking you're smarter than your doctor (to stop taking your meds), and less smart than most by starting to do drugs and herb!. Obviously, refusing to take your meds, and substituting them with illegal substances -- whether it's weed or other meds -- could be worsening your condition!. This should be obvious to a man of your age!.

Why is it so important for you to have a label to wear!? How about "Not very bright with obsessive control issues!." Or, "failure to succeed!." Or, "strong enough to reach out for others but too weak to help himself!."Www@Answer-Health@Com
