Question: What happens when taking prescription drugs with alcohol!?
i was diagnosed with depression and anxiety about 6 weeks ago after being taken to hospital for taking an overdose!. ive been put on 40mg of Citalopram, ive not been sleeping for months and my doctor prescribed me Amitriptyline for that but it isnt helping!.

last night i went to a m8s house and had 2 bottles of wine, then took 20mg of Amitriptaline and 20mg diazepam!. i had12 hrs sleep and feel better now!. if i have the tablets with alcohol again will it cause any damage!?

I dont really care if it kills me as life isnt that great anyway, just interested in what the effects are other than making me sleep!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Okay, first of all, you really scare me!. You sound suicidal!. You need to go back to your dr and flat out say, "the meds aren't working and I'm getting worse!." The alcohol is going to make everything worse because as someone has already said, it is a depressant!. It may temporarily relieve the pain, discomfort, etc, but it comes back and the feelings come back worse!. That is directly from my own experience from using alcohol!. I don't know much about Citalopram and I've been on Amitriptylline and think it's worthless!. Personal opinion though!. What works for me may not work for you and vice versa!. I am going to beg you not to drink and take Diazepam!. My ex did that and it's scary to see someone like that and secondly!. !. it can be FATAL!. Diazepam is also a depressant, just like alcohol!. What happens is Diazepam suppresses your central nervous system, slowing your reaction time, breathing, how quickly information is transmitting in your brain, etc!. As you drink alcohol, that multiplies the suppressant effect of your central nervous system and how it becomes fatal is that eventually, you stop breathing!. PLEASE call your doctor!. Help is available!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i used to drink taking citalapram, it didnt have any bad effects but the docs say they dont work if you drink, as ffor the diazepam that makes you much more drunk and is not a good idea plus, if you get very depressed and have that lot rattling around you with booze if u get suicidal thoughts you could end up doing somthing stupid when u really dont mean it!. I mean suicidal thoughts are only tempory thought they do pass !.Www@Answer-Health@Com

dude,i know how u feel!.!.i was drinking wine so i felt suicidal and i decided to take my meds!."abilfiy"so i tool about 150 miligrams of it!.and i almost died in my bedroom!.i got rushed to the hospital because i wasnt breathing!.but im alive rite now!.so im glad i didnt die!.!.so thats my story!. but yeah u shouldnt drink alcohol and take meds!.its really dangerous!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you shouldt be drinking any alcohol with these prescribed medications!.any tablets with alcohol can damage your health and or make you forget what youve done on the night you drank especilly when taking diazapam as that is an tranqulizer as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

um!.!.!.i don't think you should do that!. it will cause damage in the long run and even death!. it can cause liver damage and even heart and brain damage!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Alcohol is a depressive drug!. It makes depression worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Having trouble sleeping is a side affect and can be curried with a sleeping pill or something only prescribed by your doc!. Alcohol and the meds you are taking almost killed me!. I thought it was the way to go and hell, i was feelin pretty good while doing it!. I wound up getting alcohol poising and shocking my liver!. It has been a long road getting used to my issues and taking med every day for them!. But i am an ugly person with out them!. I still have my days!.!. but ultimately with the right system (the right meds and therapy) I am now a way better person!.
2 bottles of wine is a lot, meds or none!.!.!. with meds could be deadly!. Talk to your doc and make sure you are getting the right psychological therapy!. EVERYTHING will come together!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
