Question: Diphenhydramine!?

Hi

i am having real problems sleeping, and just wondering is diphenydramine safe to take if i have schizophrenia!.

i just took 4 50mg gel tabs of this becuase i have not slept in 2 days!.!.!.but now i read that has side effects on the mind!.!.!.!.

That is a lot of Benadryl!. Otc benadryl is only sold in 25mg doses!. In the psychiatric facilities that I have worked the 50mg dose is given and repeated in 1 hour!. 200mg is higher than I have ever seen prescribed even for severe allergic reactions
