How often can you take lorazepam without developing tolerance?!

Question: How often can you take lorazepam without developing tolerance!?
For a couple weeks I've been taking it for about two days in a row, followed by a day of not taking it!. As in I take 2 (1mg) pills every three days, approximately!. I'm very worried about developing tolerance!. I really don't want these to stop working (nor do I want a physical addiction!)!. The psychiatrist said that whether or not lorazepam becomes less effective depends alot on the individual, some people never experience tolerance and some get it after only a couple weeks of daily use!. But if anyone here has tried them, how often would you say you could take these without developing any sort of tolerance, based on your own experience!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Solely based on my experience as a nurse my patients who take lorazepam do not develop a tolerance to the drug!. However my patients do receive lorazepam 2-3 times a day at smaller doses (ie 0!.25 or 0!.5mg) It is very individual!. If you need to take one daily you will be alright!. If you only need one every other day that is good too!. You don't sound like you are misabusing it so you will be fine!. Good Luck!.

Take it as infrequently as possible!. During that time, develop other ways to cope with anxiety, such as, listening to music, yoga, meditation, etc!. You are doing okay!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i used to take them as often as u but now i barley take them at all!. My doc said that i cld take every 1 day and it wln't do n e thing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My personal opinion is that the people who are worried about becoming addicted will be the ones who DON'T become addicted!. Follow the directions from your doctor!. Don't take it any more than you have to!. You're not going to have withdrawal symptoms from lorazepam and in the grand scheme of things, lorazepam is not one I would consider 'highly addictive'!. But yes, there is a chemical in it that you could become addicted to if you are irresponsible, using it for recreational purposes, taking it more than prescribed, etc!. So just be smart about it!. I was lorazepam for years!. !.!. then I was taken off it because it interacted with a new migraine med I was put on!. I'd definitely go on it again if I wasn't taking this migraine med!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
