Question about Schizophrenia?!

Question: Question about Schizophrenia!?
My mother, mom's sister, and brother have Schizophrenia!. I don't have it nor does anyone on my father's side!. I'm curious is there a site that shows the chance of passing it on to the next generation!? I'm curious what's the chance to pass on Schizophrenia if I do not have it to my kids!? Is Schizophrenia one of the more common mental disorders!? How does it compare to other bad things that could happen!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It passes down more through the mother's side than the father's side!. It also tends to skip generations!.

And screw what your gf's family thinks!. It's what's between you and her that counts, not them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have it recessively!. Since your dad didn't have this gene, you only have a 25% chance of passing it on!.

If your wife doesn't have it at all, it stays at 25%
If she has it recessively it is a 50%
If the gene is dominant in her it is a 75%
chance that your offspring may get schizophrenia!.

Schizophrenia is scary, but that doesn't mean you have to be afraid of it okay!? Anxiety disorders and depression are the most common!. Good luck and I hope this helped! :]Www@Answer-Health@Com

Schizophrenia is inherited, but it is not a purely genetic disorder!.
In monozygotic twin studies they find that only half the twins of schizophrenic subjects share the disorder, and since twins are genetic copies of each other!.!.!. this means that there is an environmental trigger!.
This trigger is a stressor that occurs in one's life, that causes the schizophrenic predisposition to manifest itself!.
As for your own children, they are at increased risk even if you do not have it!.!.!. because it is possible that you carry a predisposition to it that is not manifested in behaviour!.
It is partly genetic, partly enviromental at aproximatelly a 50% concordance rate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you could get hit by a car, swallowed by an earthquake, boiled by lava, etc etc etc

this is not to freak you out but to show you that it is almost pointless to look for statistics that show when you could expire from what horrible thing, when you could get schizophrenia, when you could turn into a werewolf!. etc etc!.

life is for the living!. you should make the conscious decision that you are going to live a full life!. if at some point your illness turned out to be schizophrenia, as opposed to cancer, diabetes, etc you would then make up your mind to get the best treatment (improvements all the time) so that you could continue to enjoy your life!.

for questions such as the likelihood of your progeny getting that illness - or any other - check with your physician!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
