My husband has a anxiety problem and I don't know how to deal with it?!

Question: My husband has a anxiety problem and I don't know how to deal with it!?
Ok, My husband is constantly worried about every little thing!. I tell him not to worry and most things work out for the best, but that does no good!. If a small problem arises sometimes he blows up because he is worrying about everything else that could go wrong in our life!. I tell him that god is in control and we can only do our best and leave the rest that is out of our control to god!. But nothing helps him to calm down and relax and stop worrying!. I don't know what to do!. He has a very hard time being happy about anything!. Its really put a strain on our marriage!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I doubt telling him that "God is in control", and "leave it all to God" is going to make his anxiety problems go away!.

Perhaps Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) could help him control his worries and seek practical solutions to problems!.

This will need a proper clinical psychologist for any meaningful resuts!. His other options include antidepressants, though beta blockers and benzodiazepines could be considered depending on the specific nature of his anxiety!.

my husband has the same issues - he has an anxiety disorder that can be corrected or at least tamed with perscription drugs - he would need to talk to his doctor to know which one would be best - some have side effects - like sexual side effects, but do help!.!.!.!.!. there are other things he can do that aren't exactly legal that seems to help the best - people say smoking pot is the best thing for it - lets them focus on one thing at a time instead of everything!.!.!. but it's not for everyone - good luck ?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I suffer from anxiety!. I konw that it is frustrating for my husband to deal with sometimes!. I do worry about the tiny things, and the large things are of course made out to be much larger!. My husband is so amazing dealing with it!. He just sometimes lets me yell about things, he is very patient with me, sometimes he will just rub my back to help me calm down!. I have found that there are some prescription drugs out there that are not needed to be taken every day that help!. Suggest to your husband first to go to his doctor and find what is best for him!. Then he needs to go to counseling, there are therapists who specialize in anxiety!. Your insurance provider can tell you a list that will be covered, or your primary care doctor may be able to suggest someone!. Anxiety is a horrible thing because you don't always know that you are over reacting!. You can't relax and you have a hard time having a positive outlook on life!. Once I realized that was what my problem was, and working with my doctor and my husband to bring in more faith to my life I am dealing with it better, but I still need to go to counseling to learn how to handle it so I don't need to rely on the drugs when I get upset!. It is a one step at a time process!. Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
