Help! I keep getting these "bouts" of depression ever since I had my b!

Question: Help! I keep getting these "bouts" of depression ever since I had my baby!?
I know you're all going to say it's post-partum!. My baby is 3 months old!. Most of the time I am REALLY happy, love being a mom, and I can multi-task and do more then I EVER thought I could!.!.!.But the last few days I've been really depressed and nothing makes me feel better!. I already take anti-depressants!. But now that she is 3 months old, she isn't sleeping as much, and wants CONSTANT attention!. I play with her, but she just wants to look at me all the time, and when I'm feeling depressed I just CANT be all "smiley" and happy for her, so she starts crying which makes my depression even worse! Any advice!? PLEASE!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have 2 boys (now 2 & 2yrs)!. With my 1st I was overjoyed and don't recall depression but I did have days when I was very very tired with the constant breast feeding/night waking & evening colic!. I didn't see anyone about it as on & off bouts could simply be exhaustion (though if anyone had asked me on a daily basis I would have said I was great/getting enough sleep etc etc!. Not because I was lying-just because that's how I felt MOST DAYS)!. With my 2nd boy there was a definite difference, I was anxious & having weird thoughts about their safety-I was constantly worried something bad was going to happen to them (though having a careless hubbie who didn't help, left cables all over, lighters in their bed, pot lying around etc didn't help!) I noticed a definite shift in my thoughts!. It was more than bouts every few days it was a daily worry!. Having said that-I attended 6 months of group post natal depression therapy & post natal depression affects everyone differently!. My Doctor said that once it starts affecting your every day being (i!.e!. you start t change usual habits, usual tasks seem too much, you act differently then this is the time to get help)!. I started anti-depressants & was on them for about 16 months!. Maybe you could try getting out more, speaking to other 1st time Mum's about it, joining an online forum of Mummy's and if this doesn't shed some light on it/lift your spirits then seek professional advice!. In my opinion no-one knows you/your thoughts as well as you & only you can decide whether you are behaving/feeling much different to before!. Good luck-you sound as though you're doing a fabulous job with your little darling-and congratulations! ;-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Call your primary doctor and talk to him/her!. You seem to already know it's post-partum depression, so why not get some help!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
