Question: Alternate methods to reduce stress and anxiety!? Other than prescription medication!?
I am starting to get stressed, and its leading me to anxiety!. My hearts starts beating and my mind is all over!. When this happens, I get bloated with cramps and other times it gives me diarrhea!.

I try not to let stress get a hold of me, but my unconscious mind is like something I cannot control, and this results in heavy heart beats and I can feel it pumping!. I have tried valium and it worked well, but I do not want to be dependent on that!.

Is there any alternate ways to reduce what I have going on right now other than medication!? Its getting worse and worse and I think I am slowly losing my mind!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

one of the best depression/anxiety relievers i can recommend is exercise!.!. it takes your focus off what's bothering you and hey it's just good in general!.!. exercise also releases serotonin, dopamine and a few other nuerotransmitters in your brain!.!. serotonin deals with sleep and mood regulation and dopamine is related to pleasure and happiness!.!. those chemicals i just mentioned are the ones that your brain lacks when depressed!.!. exercise helps to balance them!.!. this has been clinically proven to work faster and longer than medication!.!. simply taking a twenty minute walk each day could really help!.!.

exercise also releases endorphins!.!. the body's natural pain killers!.!. this is related to "runner's high"!.!.

other than exercise you could try deep breathing, muscle relaxation techniques, meditation, yoga, listening to music, writing in a journal, or talking to a friend about it!.!. i also drink ungodly amounts of tea!.!. haha!.!.

get a good social support network!.!. talk to a friend or family member about how you feel!.!.

take time out for yourself each day!.!. to just reflect, relax, and settle your thoughts!.!. do things that relax you and that you enjoy!.!.

warm milk also helps to produce serotonin!.!. so maybe drinking a glass before you go to sleep may help!.!. this will help if you have trouble sleeping also!.!.

try to get at least an hour of sunlight each day!.!. this also helps to balance your brain chemistry and produces serotonin!.!.

when you lie down to sleep, concentrate on your breathing!.!. just keep a steady inhale and exhale!.!. in through your nose and out through your mouth!.!. this will help to calm your heart rate and hopefully help you sleep!.!. do this anytime you feel yourself getting anxious also!.!.

eat a healthy diet!.!. and drink lots of water!.!.

(on a side note!.!. a little aspirin mixed with water and made into a paste can work wonders for acne!.!. aspirin contains salicylic acid which is common in acne face washes!.!. leave it on as a mask for twenty minutes!.!. or as a spot treatment over night!.!. adding in a little honey is great too!.!.)

First lets start by what it is that is causing you to feel like this!.!.!.!. Our mind is a powerful tool in our body!. First its our mind then our emotions and then our body that gets affected by stress, anxiety or depression!.

Since i dont know your story i would recomend, reading a book, taking nice walks, being around things you like, and talking about whatever it is that has you feeling like this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just a personal remedy, but if i feel really down, i watch an episode (or if its really bad, a season) of Scrubs!.!.!. Its a comedy if you've never seen it before!.!.!.

Hi,

I am a sufferer of depression and anxiety and i actually just had an attack about 4 nights ago!.
Other than prescription medication you can try sitting down and putting your head between your legs with either your hands or better still a paper bag over your mouth and nose then take big deep breathes, this is supposed to be good for anxiety!.

As for stress, i suggest working out what it is that you are stressing about and try and solve it, or else i find taking a very long walk in the fresh air can be a great help!. When i am stressed my hands start to peel extremely badly all over and i require antibiotic cream!.!.!. Stress can kill so maybe go and see your doctor and explain that its not medication you particulary want so you would like some information that can lead to help in other ways!. Im sure he/she will be glad to assist you!.
Stress is the only cause of suicide in the world, logically!. cause if we wernt stressed then why would anyone want to kill!?!?!?!? So get help now i say!.!.!. from one sufferer to another!.
