Medicine for depression. Therapy.?!

Question: Medicine for depression!. Therapy!.!?
I've been feeling very depressed for the past two years because I can't get over someone I fell in love with!. It didn't work out and she screwed me over really badly by pretending it was working out!. Anyway, I've been seeing a therapist for the past four months, once a week but it's not helping!. I feel like I'm going back to the pain everytime!. I've been thinking of taking medication but my therapist said that she wants me in therapy if I'm on medication!. What medicine is the best for depression and how does it help!? Why do I need therapy if I'm on med!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think its important to monitor someone while they're on medication!. I mean, medication can correct some of the chemical imbalance but, it can't resolve issues, that's something you have to work out, and a therapist can help!. I mean, also, a lot of depression medications have side effects!. I've actually always been skeptical of that, I'm no expert, but, how do you know that its the medications side effects, (such as worse symptoms, suicide thoughts) as opposed to the medication just not working!? But I digress, its important to monitor a patient throughout treatment of any medication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

different medications react differently for different people, often when going on an anti-depressant you have to try a couple different ones, or different doses before you find the right kind for you!. you should stay in therapy for at least a couple months after you begin the medications just so the therapist can monitor you on the medications and see how it's affecting you, until you find that right medicine and dosage!. it's not something you can really do on your own!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Taking medication will make you feel less depressed!. When I was depressed, I took Celexa and it worked well!. However, the reason I am no longer depressed has nothing to do with Celexa, but rather huge changes I made to my life in order to get rid of major stressors!. Antidepressants are good to get you feeling better so you are more able to tackle your problems though!. However, I recommend you have a game plan before you start taking the meds!. Otherwise you could be on them for years!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Many use prosac which seems to work well, but there may be side effects where you can't take it!. But yes, many medications for depression can help you alot!. Sometimes its a chemical embalance that makes people depressed too, along with something that has happened in their life to make them sad!. Please though before you do take anything, go to your doctor & talk to them about it!. They will know best what type to put you on for your needs, your body, etc!. Hope this helps :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

it seems to me that you need to get medication!. Medication helps relieve the depression, but therapy will help you make sure you deal with the issues that CAUSED the depression!. They should work hand in hand!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
