Why is my new doctor so against paxil? Or any anxiety drug?!

Question: Why is my new doctor so against paxil!? Or any anxiety drug!?
I have a good doctor, but this doctor seems to be against any paxil, or anxiety meds of any sort- and that's fine- but I just want to know why!. I asked today, straight out- but the question was kind of dismissed, and I was told that they want to work on my diet, blood sugar, and blood pressure-
AND THAT IS FINE-
but I couldn't get an answer like, "Because they are the spawn of satan_" or anything like that!.

I'm just confused!.

Not only can I NOT change doctors at this time, I don't want to-

But my question is, WHY are some doctors against depression/anxiety meds!? And why won't they tell you why!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Doc doesn't want to tell you that most of the meds don't work or take so long to get into your system that your problems just get worse!. There are serious side effects to these drugs that your doctor may feel that you would suffer from!. I'm glad to see there are docs out there that don't want to just medicate and forget! Feel privileged that you have a caring docWww@Answer-Health@Com

Antidepressants and anxiety meds are too different classifications!. Paxil is an antidepressant, but can be used for anxiety because anxiety can be a symptom of depression!. There are a lot of warnings out there not only for paxil, but for antidepressants lately!. One of the warnings states paxil can cause birth defects!. The FDA is also warning that antidepressants, in general, may cause people to become more depressed and suicidal!. I hate that they released that information because they don't explain the FDA's findings!. Yes, technically people may end up suicidal but there are two types of suicidality!. There is someone who is passively suicidal and someone who is actively suicidal!. When someone gets deeply depressed, they become too lethargic, don't want to get out of bed, etc, etc, therefore, they may want to end their life, but don't have the energy to really do it, and are passively suicidal!. Then they begin taking antidepressants, they become more energetic, getting out of bed, thinking more coherently, therefore can put a plan together and may be able to form a plan to attempt suicide and termed actively suicidal!. I think this could be why your doctor is against prescribing antidepressants!. As far as why they won't tell you their reason, I'm not sure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
