OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder)?!

Question: OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder)!?
Do OCD and ASD coincide!? My sister was diagnosed with ASD a few years ago but recently, she has developed strange rituals such as washing her school uniform (blazer and tie included) every day as soon as she gets home from school and doing the same activities after school!. If she isn't able to wash her clothes (for example, someone else's clothes are in the washing machine), she becomes distressed and washes her clothes in the bathroom sink!. She becomes very agressive with everyone and some of her behaviour is worrying!. Today, she was going to try to burn her school uniform (until I took the lighter away from her), just because she couldn't wash it at that moment in time!. I tried to tell her that her school uniform isn't dirty and she doesn't need to wash her school blazer every day but she doesn't seem to understand/be listening!. Has anyone else experienced this with a child/adult with ASD and does anyone have any tips for dealing with this type of behaviour!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

OCD and ASD do coincide!. Dealing with these types of behaviors can be very difficult!.!.!. You might want to find ways to redirect her when she is having an episode!. Also, if she is starting to become agressive, to the point that she almost set her uniform on fire, you might have to keep an eye on her and make sure she isn't self-abusing to let out her agressions!. It can be very sad to deal with, but just stay strong and work with her, not against her!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

they don't seem to have a direct link!. sometimes people who struggle with something like ASD create OCD mentally when they're in a stressful situation, it's their mental way of coping with things, stressful or upsetting situations often make OCD worse, they tend to find that having a routine keeps them in control of their life!. Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com
