Question: Is ADHD a feminist conspiracy!?
I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was six years old, mainly for acting like a boy!. The fact is 90% of ADHD cases are boys, and I feel it is a feminist conspiracy against boys by making natural "boyish" behaviour considered anti-social and then medicating boys to make them conform to the feminist ideals!.

There definitely seems to be an effort going on to "feminize" boys!. A lot of behaviour that is natural to boys and has been for centuries is now not socially accpetable!.!.!.hey, let's call it a disease!. Boys can't play or rough house like they used to in the old days, it's suddenly not normal anymore!.

AD/HD is not overdiagnosed, it's diagnosed in the wrong people!. So, there are people who are getting diagnosed with AD/HD that do not have it, and people who do have it and are not getting diagnosed!.
Women are more likely to have the inattentive type, which is harder to diagnose!. That is part of the reason why so many more men are diagnosed than women!.
AD/HD medications don't work all that well on people who do not have AD/HD!. Even though we're medicating people, it isn't necessarily into submission!. What we're trying to do is to alleviate the suffering of others!. AD/HD is not fun, and it goes beyond "normal" behavior!. It's simply unfortunate that some people take advantage of the diagnosis (ahem, pharmaceutical companies), and that there are people out there who are not qualified to make the diagnosis but are (ahem, family doctors)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I personally wouldn't relate it to feminism at all!. Although I see where you're coming from!. Actually, since you mention it, kids are expected to be 'grown up' at a very early age now!.!.!. Let them be kids- hyper, playful, loud, etc!.!.!. I think ADHD is an out (sometimes) for lazy people!. "Drug 'em up, that'll calm them down!." (Not saying that all cases aren't legit)

I think "ADHD" is often over-diagnosed!. Some kids truly have problems paying attention, but for the most part, what is called "ADHD" is kids being kids and the teachers are too tired to keep them in their seats!. I think the lack of physical education and recess in schools also contributes to the "rise" in diagnoses, as kids seek ways to burn off their energy!. Humans didn't evolve growing up sitting in chairs staring at a blackboard!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You know, when I was a kid in the 70s, I heard many times, "That's a boy for you!" (I'm female) But you don't hear that now!. Now you hear, "Good God, what's wrong with him!?!? He needs <whatever meds>!" Seems like people my age and older (I'm 38) can't stand kids but keep having them!. I'm like you, I don't get it!. Makes me think of the Rolling Stones song "Mother's Little Helper"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
