Question about prozac .?!
Question: Question about prozac !.!?
Hi just a quick question I started to take prozac 20mg yesterday and one this morning !.I havent been able to stop crying since !.Has this happened to anyone else and if so did it wear off or did you stop taking the prozac!. thanks

As other people have said, the drug wouldn't be in your system yet, one or two tablets wouldn't have done anything and not at that dose!. it takes a while for the drug to get into the system and build up!. Maybe the thought of being on an anti-depressant and your depression itself is making you overwhelmed at the moment and that's what has caused the crying!. Hopefully it will pass, your system just needs a good cry i think!. I don't think it's anything to worry about, with prozac soem people get side effects of nausea, dizziness or tiredness, but these usually subside in a matter of two weeks and if you returned to your doctor they would probably tell you to try and perserver with it for a few weeks, unless the side effects are so bad that you can handle it, then definately return to your doctor!.
Don't stop taking the prozac, there is no need honestly, if you feel you really have to stop them contact your gp first!.

Nobody knows what these drugs do to
help depression and anxiety!.
How can they do both !?
They prevent the re -uptake of serotonin !.
However ,they also effect other brain chemicals !.
Noody knows why it takes several weeks for them to work!.
It could be the down regulation of T2a serotonin
receptors due to the excess serotonin on these receptors!.
Is depression due to over stimulation of an area
of the left fore brain !?
Over stimulation of T2a eceptors causes
mania , rage , agitation , panic attacks ect !.
It may be that at first your depression gets worse!.
Panic attacks get worse at first !.
Prozac has more side effect problems han newer
drugs !.
The gold is to make ssri drugs with less side effects!.

It can be a bit of a rocky ride for the first two weeks of being on prozac!. However stick it out for about a month to six weeks to see if it eventually has a positive effect on you!. If not your doctor will be able to find an anti- depressant which suits you!. Good luck and hang in there!.
However if you begin to have suicidal feelings or anything like that please see your doctor or go to your nearest hospital immediately, do not act on them!.

i have just beenchanged to sertline as prozac is very addictive, the pills will not have had time to get into your system yet so im sorry its not the pills that are doing it!. maybe its the relief that you have/are getting help and moveing forward!. i would mention this "reaction" you are having to your doc when you see them next though, and if you feel any worse go straight there or a"n"e!. good luck and chin up as they keep saying to me lolWww@Answer-Health@Com
Anti-depressants often cause side affects when you first start taking them!. After a few weeks they should go away but if it becomes a major problem go back and see your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
