My step mum thinks I have OCD... she has GOT to be wrong, right?!

Question: My step mum thinks I have OCD!.!.!. she has GOT to be wrong, right!?
Basically, she thinks I have some form of OCD because I only like certain numbers!. Yeah that's normal, she says!. However - here's an example of why she thinks I have OCD:

I like the number 3 but hate 4 so if I want some tomatoes and there are 4 left I will still only take 3 and leave 1!.
I like the number 7 and used to like 8!. But now I don't like 8 so much cus half of 8 is 4!. So I will never take 8 tomatoes!.

I know that sounds a bit freaky BUT surely it can't be OCD because I don't get hysterical about it!. If someone gave my 4 tomatoes I wouldn't have a fit!. Though if I ask my step mum for some tomatoes I'll specify a number!.

Anything else!? I like to play perfect games!. So if I go wrong I'll start again!. Um!.!.!. if I'm tracing my finger around the edge of something I have to keep doing it till I make no mistakes!.
But like the number thing!.!.!. I wouldnt get hysterical about any of this!.

I recon I'm just some sort of perfectionist!.

Yep!. So!.!.!. waddyathink!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I went to talk to a therapist about having some anger issues, and mentioned my 6 year old daughter displayed some OCD signs!. My therapist mentioned it was my fault, because she couldn't control my anger, (yelling, not hitting) so she controlled her environment by displaying OCD traits!.!.!.!.So, I guess I'm trying to say: Tell your Mom it's her fault!!

Maybe that'll stop her!Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, you don't!. I only like even numbers, and when say I am eating chips, I take two at a time so I know I will have an even number!. But if I get an odd number of things in a snack bag, I will still just eat them all!. Or if somebody gives me three M&Ms, I will eat them!. Don't worry!. you don't(:Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry, sounds like mild OCD!. Deal with it now and it may well not become a problem!. Blow it off and it may!. Your call!. Btw, nearly everyone with mental health issues spends sometime in denial when they are forming!. Unfortunate since that's the time it's easiest to resolve them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like a mild case of OCD to me!. As long as it's not seriously affecting you, I wouldn't worry to much!. Maybe you should try to cure yourself from this by taking 8 tomatoes next time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You needn't be absolutely bonkers to have OCD!.!.!. you merely must prefer things in a certain (yet somewhat irrational) order or quantity!. That said, I think you do have a slight case of OCD!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it might be OCD!. OCD can show up in different ways!. My friend is OCD and really her only symptom is she has to use two papertowels when she washes her hands!. It might be OCD!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The main thing with this is, if it's starting to interfere with your normal enjoyment of everyday life!.
Most people has various quirks that could be held under the umbrella of OCD-type tendencies, but the time to worry about it would be if it is interfering with your normal day to day life!.
The only person that can say if you have OCD or not is a mental health professional!.
You could consider making an appointment to see someone for a brief assessment - this would help put your and your step mum's mind at rest!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
