Question: Do i have depression or bi polar!?

I first got depressed last year and it took me about 6 months to feel happy again!. About a month ago I started feeling incredibly low again!. I have taken a few doses and have thoughts about death, for example when i am in a car i want it to crash!. i was on 20mg citalopram and 50g of trazadone but i took them all and the doctor wont give me any more because she thinks i will take them again!. i am being referred to the CPN and i think it will really help!. I do find it difficult to talk about my problems!. I am sitting here crying and just want the pain to stop!. people saying get out enjoy yourself is easier said than done!. i hate life, i am a faliure and cant see hope!. its so hard :( i am not sure if i have bi polar!? could you help me please, i am too low!. please!. thank you xxxWww@Answer-Health@Com

Per the DSM-IV-TR, criteria for Bipolar Disorder is having extreme highs and extreme lows!. If you haven't had any extreme highs but have had extreme lows, it's more likely that you have Major Depression!. Major Depression can be a little like Bipolar Disorder if it is recurrent, like you mentioned!. Going back and forth between depressed and baseline!.

I just gave a generalization!. There are a lot of little things that can indicate Bipolar Disorder!. Only your doctors will be able to diagnose you!.

Life does get better! I have had depression before but am now out of it!. Remember all the times you felt better than you do now!. You'll be doing well soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it seems to me that you are dangerously deep into depression!. I suggest that you see a psychiatrist to help you with these problems!. Is there any problems that are going into your life right now or is there any particular thing that is bothering you which encourages you to feel this way!?!? Why don't you try getting active like going to the park a play an activity with friends or go swimming or get 30 minutes of exercise in a few times a week!. Just do something to keep your mind of depression!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it is FAR more than just feeling a bit sad one day and then feeling a bit happier the next

it doesn't sound like you have bipolar!.
what is a CPN!?
find a therapist or some REALLY good friends
find a hobby or some other activity to distract yourself when you get low!.
bubble baths usually help me

Bipolar requires hypomania (subthreshhold mania) at minimum!. It is a lot more than happy!. No, you are not describing anything close to bipolar disorder!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Exercise helps,I was issued with a mountain bike to get me out of the house,even though it's raining heavily here I'd put a coat on and a pair of wellies and go and splash in a few puddles if I was feeling down!.Everyone feels a bit down at times but when it gets serious and stops you from having a life it's time to seek help!.Giving the problem a name does help but everyone's case is different and special to them!.Keep on asking questions and talking to people like this if it helps!.The lows help us to appreciate the highs even more,Life on chemicals is like a straight jacket that buries your head in marshmallow!.It's not what happens to you its how you respond to it!.When you finally get to the Pearly Gates,and hope it's a long time yet, the question you are asked is "Did you enjoy the Gymnasium!?"Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had depression before so I know what it's like!. I've become involved in the dailystrength website!. It's forum based but even if you don't take part in those, you should find some good supporting friends there!. I find two-way online conversation useful in helping me get my thoughts straight!.
